Bought the Santa Fe new on Jan. 8, 2007 – not even 2 years old and we have 62,000 miles on it now that we are back from Alaska.
Rolled it over to 33,000 on Jan. 8 of this year and looks like we are on pace to beat that!
Primary vehicle, used for everything, but caching seems to put on a good percentage of those miles.
Can we substitute, say a ‘Project Ape’ cache, for a CITO event?
Packers won yesterday. I was there.
Wow, I just saw the post asking for recommendations for caches in Vegas and had checked your profile to see you hadn’s logged any caches from Nevada . . . . .on the first page!!
Anyway Congratulations on the #2 spot and for doing 100 caches in Nevada (if I counted correctly). Plus the trip through the Virgin River gorge. That’s the way we drove home when we were out there in ’07
Sorry you missed out of GC659
That was the favorite for our trip, but slowed me down as it took about 3 hours and a vehicle with off road clearance!Probably missed on this one as I’m posting a little late and you may already be in Vegas. My most memorable cache in the area was GC659
Took me about 3 hours and there are fantastic views from the area. A little tougher hide than most out there too. I made the find Feb 5 of ’07 and only about half a dozen have visited since then. It’s also one of the oldest around, as it was hidden in 2001
Another cache that comes to mind for fun was at a drive thru wedding chapel. I asked Tammy if she wanted anything other than the cache and she opted for something more traditional! LOL
Good luck!
Thanks for all of your congratulations! Mathman had talked to me while we were on the way there, so I’m glad I was able to make the find.
We actually chose ‘Dane County Mountain Climbing’, GCVENG, which is right near the ‘Donald’. There had been 2 DNFs before I got there so I knew it was going to be a bigger challenge than most of our milestones.
Thanks again, and hope to see you all on the trail!
Thanks everyone and especially Mathman for posting the milestone. Amazing how the finds add up so quickly!
And yes, the beer was cold. I put it in a baggie with some ice in my pack. The second time I’ve done that for a milestone. The first time, I surprised my son with the cold beer once we made the find on Sugarloaf Mountain in El Paso, Texas.
Thanks again, and Cache Happy!
Rick😆
Thank you all! Special thanks to Mathman who seems to keep better track of me than me! As for the pictures – should be starting again soon, as I’ve finally replaced Tammy’s camera!
Thanks again, and
Happy Caching!
RickThanks to all who posted their congratulations. We are just out there having fun and somehow the numbers keep adding up.
Cache Happy!
RickSometimes with the running – or paddling about – I tend to overlook the Wisconsin geocaching site. But finally, I’m visiting long enough to extend my congratulations to the Mathcrew for 1000 finds
It’s not about the numbers, but that certainly is an impressive one!
Congratulations again, and remember to Cache Happy!
RickCongratulations!
Also a big thank you for breaking the trail in the snow out to those caches. It was great to be able to follow in the footsteps of such a fine caching team. By the time I went, snowshoes weren’t necessary. I’m sure Mathman would say, that with the size of my feet, they weren’t needed anyway! Thanks for many things.
Cache Happy,
RickI’ve cached with ‘The Paddles’ on a 20 cache day,
Not for the numbers, just having fun their way.Exploring a cave, walking trails and climbing a bluff,
With ‘One Paddle Short’, Lj & Scruff. The numbers keep on climbing, while we have the fun,
with the best part being, we can never be done!Congratulations ‘One Paddle Short’ on 750!!
I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting items. Like to find clearance items at the WMart. Generally I try to T 1 and L 2 items when I find something I want. But it is a losing battle to keep quality items in the cache. Have already noticed that most of the stuff I leave, is taken by the next cacher.

Hey everyone,
My brother and I are in a travel bug race and currently his racer, TBKB56, has been stuck in “Inner-City Wilderness” (GCNEAN) since Oct 31! Inner Cirt Wilderness is located near Marinette. Can anyone please get this bug moving again?
Thanks!

Alrighty, may have helped your brother out as I picked up his Voodoo Racer on Jan. 21 and have moved him twice. Still seems to be stuck in Central Wi at Powers Bluff (GC7CA) Hope someone heading south can give him a lift!

I put a bunch of miles on my car, but managed to be FTF on this challenge. It is highly recommended! 3 of the 5 caches, plus the final, were awesome! Had a blast travelling to new caches fighting time before it was to dark to find! Also, TeamEverest did a fantastic job getting me FTF award. TFTC
