I’m not from Oshkosh or Fond Du Lac but I haven’t seen that name anywhere in the Fox Valley.

I do have to say one thing about Stevens Point, they need more roundabouts.

I have a few local caches that are accessible only to boats. I don’t have a boat or access to one. I put these few caches on my ignore list so they don’t show up in my queries or on my map. I know they are there and when I do get a boat I will go find them. As far as ignoring caches that I can’t find, I don’t ignore them. I keep on trying to find them.

    How about a stamp?

I thought about that before, but you know how in the library they used to use the ones with the dials that changed the date of the book being due back. Find one of those and make it custom for your geocaching name.

I walked west as well when I did this series. I should have waited for a nice fall day but the lure of the FTF’s had me doing these on a rainy day. I will let the owner know that her Eds Lake series has been recommended on the site.

I agree with RSplash40, I see alot of bad hides that disappear and don’t get repaired or replaced. Alot of disabled caches in our future.

I’ve hunted in cemeteries before… FTF hunting that is 🙂

I’ve had an issue with Garmin Communicator before. But that was on Firefox and I wasn’t the only one who had the issue at that time. So I figured it was just geocaching.com that was having the issue with the communicator. Firefox is a great browser but it is a bit slow. I’ve been testing some of the nightly builds of the 3.6 and 3.7 trunks and they improve a bit, but compared to Safari or Chrome they don’t even come close. If speed isn’t your thing, then stick with Firefox. Its a much safer browser because they release updates to security problems much quicker then Safari or Chrome.

But anyways you wanted a good stats program. The one that I use is from http://www.macdefender.org and its called GCStatistic. It is for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

That’s funny, there was a big balloon floating around when I was caching this morning as well.

I didn’t notice anything this morning. I just checked my 60CSX and it was getting a good +-30 feet here at my desk.

congrats on the 1K and many more to go!

in reply to: Winter-Friendly Cache Icon #1915314

I think they should change the terminology from Available in Winter to Winter Friendly. Most all caches are available in winter but not all are winter friendly and buried in the snow.
