I’d be interested, but like others – it’d have to depend on the Thursday. I have some Thursday commitments.
So if I had 5 user names, I could cast 30 votes? Sorry to throw a monkey wrench into the works.
This has me curious about the BOD voting. Is each computer allowed 1 vote, each user name allowed 1 vote, each family allowed 1 vote or…..?
placed 4 today
I’ve found three caches that were in zip-lock bags. All three were full of wet, mildewed logs and swag. Bad idea!
I have an easy time finding micros in the woods with 12″ of snow, but difficulty with ammo cans – go figure.
My winter caching attire:
1) My trusty hiking Shillelagh for poking in the typical hidey holes – that keeps my gloves dry. Also helps to bang the snow off of the overhanging evergreen boughs.
2) Gloves: I sprang $20 for some really thin hunting gloves from Gander Mountain. They’re thin enough to keep on, yet keep my hands warm.
3) Sorel snow boots with heavy wool socks keep my feet warm and dry. If I have to hike a bunch, I use my hiking boots – have dry shoes and socks to change in to.
4) Layers of coats
5) I wear this thing (I believe it’s called a Gator) that is like a giant turtleneck’s…well…neck. I can pull it up over my head if need be.
6) Several hats.
7) Warm coffee in the truck awaiting my return. As I understand it (according to the COTM page), you can vote for yourself, but you cannot NOMINATE your own cache.

I liked the caches and the puzzle to find the final (with lots and lots of help from the cachemeisters)

What are some of those state line doozies???
I would highly recommend any cache that starts with “Spinning a Yarn” 😀 That hider is wacko 😉 . You’ll never know what you’ll find 😯 . I’ve heard rumors of levitating, music-playing, conspiracy theorying, Monte Pythoning, devilishly evil 😈 and gloriously camoed caches too. Well worth the trip IMHO. Course, I’m a little biased about that 8) .
And we can come up with a couple of “doozies” for you right on the state line.
The last one is my favorite Paula. Nice job!
Uncle Fun has a good point there. I think of BEER, cows, milk, cheese, mining, forestry, shrubberies, geocaching, sailboats, rolling hills, red barns, Milwaukee and the Green Bay Packers amongst other things – not corn.
Well, since you mentioned Boy Scouts, I’ll speak up. I really like the idea of a CITO or other service project at the location of WGA events. Make it part of the event.
When we go camping with the Scouts, we try to do a service project of some sort. At the very least, we leave the grounds free of any man-made debris by patrolling the camp area just prior to leaving.
Perhaps a novel approach would be to contact the park ranger well in advance of the event and ask them what they’d like to see. I would guess that a fair number of rangers would like some sort of maintenance project done. Parks get money for purchases, but are generally under-staffed.
I do like the idea of giving something back.[/b]
By my count, there is interest from 6 people for buying the plates to this point. I think it would fiscally irresponsible to invest so much money into a project that would benefit so few people.
If payments for plate orders were taken in advance that would completely offset the cost, well then maybe. I doubt that would happen.
The figure of $15,000 was mentioned to get this project off the ground. That money would buy a large number of park benches! Or GPSr’s for demo kits.
I would vote no.
Edited besuase I kanet spels
