That’s a 2 inch, beveled edge paint brush.
You might want to add having 911 standing by.
Interesting that you should mention “Be Like Rogheff“. Equally interesting is the comment about an explosion of new caches.
Maybe others have had a different experience than I, but the 50 or so ammo cans that have been taken out of that cache have netted only about 10 new caches. Is that common for seed caches or do people just like to collect ammo cans?
All right, I’ll pipe in with a hint since it’s my cache. You should bring:
3 toothpicks
1 large thrermos of hot chocolate
1 Bic lighter
123.5 feet of high tensil rope
1 flashlight
1 buddy
1 can of Alpo (to distract the bear)
1 can opener
1 trusty geostaff
2 GPSrs
1 climbing harness
1 first aid kit
1 machette
1 tube of poison ivy cream
1 roll of biodegradeable toilet paper
1 Radio Flyer wagon
3 MP3s
1 hammer (claw)
1 Sharpie marker
1 open end wrench 9/16″
2 snowshoes
1 fishing boat 16′
3 sets of corn on the cob holders
1 metal detector
1 BB gun
1 can of OFF
2 two way radios
1 compass
1 pencil
1 framed backpack to load all your gear intoYou know, the basic gear needed to hunt any Rogheff cache 😆
I got a box of 250 at Hobby Lobby. They were cheaper than they are at Michaels
Do you really want that particular tie “popping up” unexpectedly?
😆 😆 😆 🙄
Eppi pen
compass
multi-tool
flashlight
extra rechargeable batteries
toilet paper
extra log sheets
extra bags for extra log sheets
pencil
pen
1942 Philco Problematic GPSrSomething to consider…
My wife works just over the Illinois border in Zion. It’s a sleepy little town. Two days ago, thieves went through her parking lot and smashed the windows of every car that had a dash mounted GPSr and stole them.
It’s never pleasant when a Philco dies.

Unless the geocacher is wearing feathers during pheasant hunting season 😳
I know I wouldn’t have had as much fun hiding caches without your work approving them. Thank you very much for volunteering your time. It IS appreciated!
If a Rogheff cache is rated a 1 star terrain, you can get to and retrieve the cache while sitting in a wheelchair.
Sure, a heavy shillelagh with a metal tip would do that. Honestly, I use my regular shillelagh with it’s rubber tip for everything, including digging through ice, water or logs.
Would an ammo can hidden in the stump of an old tree, frozen in a solid block of ice also be not available? Micros on the ground aren’t the only caches that have issues in the winter.
glad to help
Here’s an interesting opinion on this very subject by Jeremy, owner of Geocaching.com:

“There are, as Markwell has written, many shades of grey. And as I often write, as long as the activity doesn’t get too abusive I would posit that it doesn’t matter too much if someone does multiple logs on a cache. After all the find counts don’t get you a prize. Besides you can always pooh pooh those who don’t log caches the right way even if they are more prolific finders than you are. The same goes for hard caches over easy caches, urban caches or hiking caches, etc.Markwell also put it well that I generally don’t make judgements on the shades of grey. I only step in when the activity becomes carcenogenic (or epidemic).
I’m of the opinion that anything below the “marks multiple finds for moving caches” is a no no. But my opinion has no bearing on the way the site should function in this area. Ultimately the cache owner decides. within reason, the parameters of the “find.”

“1700 logs by 30 users is a bit of an overkill, however. It would be hard to argue that this kind of logging crosses the line for abuse.” -
