This is a great idea, and I just found out about it now! I am excited to see what people come up with. I wish I knew how to submit a design I have one in my head, but not sure how to put it on paper/computer!
If you can’t sketch and email a pic of that, go ahead and send in your idea to the email addy too. There may be individuals that can take the idea and run with it for you.

do we have any spoiler concerns? (for the tiny bit of caching that we did????) We have some photos that I would consider submitting, but don’t want to “spoil” any future finds…
The owner of any such cache should be consulted before submitting/posting spoiler pictures.
Being the owner of 3 caches in the park for the event I only ask that you not post a picture of the “blue man”. If you have a great picture of kids finding the “bug motel” please by all means submit them. Even if they show the container, I’m ok with that.
sounds like a good tip. I probably would have asked Mrs. S anyway. We only got 3 anyway 🙄 A lake filled with bass was just too tempting for the male anglers in our team….

where’s the thumbs up icon when I need it? 😀
thanx for the info cheeto!
Just going to comment so I can get notified. Just took a quick peek at the map and there’s a ton of caches to hit this weekend. Nice job to the committee! BTW – I may be looking for some caching partners as my family is more into the camping part than the caching part sometimes. 😀

The fishing pier is at Allen Lake, I am not sure how the fishing is in Hartman or the middle lake but I would expect that all PARK Waters are okay for the derby. Not sure where Mr S and -cheeto- are planning to be stationed. My hope would be for a live release after the measurement, unless of course, the angler intends on cooking their catch.
well RT10 does know how to filet and clean his own fish, but I think I’d have to throw a fit if they caught enough fish to clean and fry….I still have BAGS of frozen fish from the catch in St. Germain last summer.

No location parameters have been set. You’re free to fish where you’d like in the park. I’m sure most participants will be on shore.
How will the official measuring be handled if people fish on lakes other than the one near the campout base (Hartman Lake)? No “judges” will be stationed elsewhere.
Ah yes, good point sir.
I’m not a committee member or a pro fisherman, but i think if people have boats and can abide by the boundaries set forth above, it should be okay for them to paddle out and try their luck.
On a similar note, I think any type of bait should be allowed as well, artificial or otherwise. But thats just my 2 cents.
I‘m assuming the tourney is all in good fun anyway, so we can take each other at their word.
I’m also assuming that Mr. RT will want to bring his own bait as worms aren’t the preferred choice around here, unless of course, Mr. S is sharing his bait secrets….
will there be one like this??????

Oh Mr. G., my children wanted to know why I was laughing out loud……
kc9fmy – Mr. G is being much more subtle with his response than I was being….
So am I picturing it correctly, that one would have to cross one or more lanes of traffic to get to it? Don’t know Madtown that well, so the street references don’t help me.

Wow, being picked up at school with the camper in tow. What kind of dream come true is that? 😀
I think that’s a mother’s dream that all will be ready and loaded in a timely fashion in spite of a 4 yr old that stays home “helping” and a field trip the day before that will slow down the progress…..
BTW – we are planning on leaving Oshkosh after school is out for RT10 at 3:15 (really more like 3:30). Our goal is to pick him up with the camper loaded and head straight to the park… we shall see :D…
That puts us there between 4:00 and 4:30

We’re shooting for a 3pm arrival on Friday. 100 mile journey for us, and that’s with a 2 year old in tow, so what we are planning on and what actually happens could be a tad different 😉 Is it gonna warm up for us?
weather man said warm up toward next weekend. (but there’s a lot that can happen between now and then!)
I don’t like that many of the storms over the past few days have passed right over that part of the state (while missing us 35 miles to the east in Oshkosh)

Thank you very much! New container on the way shortly.
You’re welcome, it was fun to revisit that park. I need to keep it on the list of places to visit with the boys. It’s a nice park!
Well this turned out to be a great day to replace this one… the storm that was coming turned out to be a dud during pick up, so I stopped with 4 boys (I was taking some other kids home) and made them sit tight while I dodged the sprinkles. 😈
The rain and clouds were menacing enough that there were no muggles except the ones I brought with me 😉
