Congrats on the milestone find and the great lonely choice!
02/06/2009 at 11:25 pm in reply to: Shameless self promotion, not exactly geocaching related…. #1901842Congrats on both, especially the photos. We do love those birds as well. Is there a site or way to see the photos selected?
Congrats to TEAM gotta run! Yes, the bonus was doing some good puzzles, a bit of a workout there, and picking up a few other nifty hides while you were in the area. Congrats again!

We need to remember the reason we all got into this sport, which is I believe for fun. There seems to be so many issues as of late, that some of the fun, at least for me, has gone out of this sport.
Agreed. Not everything in life can be perfect, and COM is an example. Still, it offers a way to notice a cache and make a free choice of doing one for fun based on what one reads in the cache listing and logs, as well as hearing opinions directly from others. The BOD election might be a little different matter and deserve more scrutiny on how the ballots are cast.
February, Groundhog Day, Tuesday, Wednesday….

I have nominated a few up North … so they make the bookmark list so people who visit the area might read the cache page, see the bookmark and the nomination and might think it’s worth going to find.the pharmgirl replied:
I definitely appreciate that. When planning a caching trip, I make a special effort to visit certain caches based on nominations/wins. I think the nomination is just as strong as a win. I figure “this must be an extra special cache.”kansas64 wrote:
… It seems more a popularity contest than a contest to highlight the best caches that are out there in Wisconsin.
Is this just me that this bothers?the pharmgirl replied:
I used to be slightly bothered by what I perceived to be a “popularity contest” regional trend of voting too, but now I figure if it’s popular, there must be a reason. And although I don’t personally vote for a cache unless I’ve found it, I can understand why some cachers might do that between a list of choices they haven’t found…I pretty much agree with the pharmgirl’s comments here, along with those of others. I will only vote for a cache I’ve done, so my vote reflects my own experience. Some caches nominated in certain months may turn out to be better caches than some I’ve seen win in other months, but, for the most part, caches nominated go on my “to do” list and I have rarely been disappointed when I do get to do them myself. Prior logs and bookmarks like COTM nomination are some of the most reliable ways to size up a choice to go a little out of the way to seek a cache.
Wow, milestones are piling up in the cold months! Sunny and warm anywhere sounds like a plan. Congrats on the 4K!
All Right! Way to go, Ralph!
Wow, 9K! Platinum soon on the way. Congrats!
Welcome to the “club” Team gotta run. A milestone month to remember with the puzzle caches you knocked down and a convincing LCG victory. Congrats!
Yes, welcome, Sara. Where is your home base? If the woods and trails near there get too exciting, as zuma mentions, you can always spend a few hours in the forums to unwind…

It’s so cold
Sagasu won’t even chase a easy traditional FTF… now that’s friggin cold!
Not true, it wasn’t the cold, just the flu. After three days inside, the chance to run took me outside for some fresh air and fun. Got one FTF and a bye on one two; was good to get out, and I see others did too.
Hey, I didn’t say I had a favorite or to butter ’em up. You make it sound like a meal. 😉 I’d go with the normal courtesy, like staying away from puzzle caches and micros in the woods, not to mention caches on bridges, at airports and police stations, and on live rail lines…. 🙄
We echo the welcomes. I had acutally discovered your identity a while ago when you made some of your first finds on a few of our caches. Today, I just discovered this thread, which I had never seen before, by noticing new posts and was curious. I say go for it on hiding some of those ammo cans. I sure do need some new caches to find around town. By the way, one of the finds of a Giz hide that you made was DNFd since you were there by one of our favorite reviewers, so don’t rub it in when you submit those new caches!
Congrats on the milestone, and having so much fun that you weren’t even able to keep track of when you crossed the line! Look forward to seeing you hit the 1K!
