Congrats! Sorry I missed meeting you at “Simon and Garfunkel” on Friday. We could have done some sharing there at a first meeting. Well done!
BIG Congrats, Pat! It was great to finally meet you at “Names and Faces” on Saturday. It’s amazing we didn’t meet on the trail some time before this. Awesome accomplisment; look forward to seeing you soon again!
“Walking On Velvet Green” was everything we hoped for in a milestone memory. It was indeed a magical spot, and yes, -cheeto-, we managed to make it a little work if you read the log. We celebrated with a trek to the top of a nearby high rock ridge, the site of an old fire tower, to do another cache for an encore, going from a lush spring-fed mossy valley to the top of the world for a spectacular view of the nearby terrain. It was as invigorating in the warm wind on that high ground as it was soothing in the serene surroundings at Velvet Green. The day was sprinkled with other caches along clear water streams, sightings of grouse in the woods, hawks and turkey vultures soaring overhead at the fire tower summit, and an owl silently passing overhead in the dark as we approached “Spirit Rock” in the Menominee Nation en route home. It was truly a memorable day! Thanks to all of you for the warm well wishes.
Belated congrats. Pete. I just can’t keep up with these forums when I get a quota for my logging time at home. Need an IT job I guess. I know you are making a move on #400 by now as you made another trip to the edge of the cache-rich Fox Cities a few days ago after getting me out at 11 the night before to chase a 5.0 puzzle YOU solved that had just been published. Aren’t we glad the owner managed to place it the next day just before you got there?! You would be dangerous if you lived closer to a cache-dense area! Congrats again.
When did he find time to get out and log that? Oh yea, it must have been between placing the three new puzzles this week. He never stops scoping out a new hide whenever we are out logging finds. Those creative juices never stop flowing! Congrats on taking the time to log some too, Alex!
08/22/2007 at 5:10 am in reply to: Congrats.. Sagasu Logs 200th CONSECUTIVE day with a find #1878160Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have provided inspiration and encouragement while we pursued and achieved this memorable milestone! As sloughfoot comments, the opportunities do thin out as you go and are required to travel further and make a game plan from day to day to make a find. It got tougher to have a back up plan in the same county as the days went by.
This streak started on February 4 with our second FTF and a notion to try to do a cache every day for the rest of the month. Over six months later we were shooting for 200 days after an earlier goal of 100 was accomplished, and sloughfoot, who had done 100 himself, gracefully encouraged us to continue as long as we could. That we have certainly done.
Talk of 300 or 365 aside, and comparisons to the energizer bunny that remotely resembles Tom Selleck taken in stride (scary thought, hey?), 200 was enough, yet momentum carried us a few days beyond that till almost all caches findable in a 25 mile range were found. Or maybe it was fear that we could have miscounted a dozen times or so that carried us to 205.
It is now time to rest and savor the run. Thanks for being a part of it and especially to each of you who commented in this forum for some of those 200 caches, as well as many others who placed the other caches and offered encouraging words on this journey.
Sagasu – Dave, Jackie and Dan
Congrats again Lisa and Dennis! I am totally honored that you chose a Sagasu cache for your #2000 milestone. I just read the owners copy of the log and went to the forums to see this string was already started. WSQ Royalton is not exactly on anyones beaten path either, but that cache now has a special place in my geocaching memories. I do love the cemetery caches as well; they seem to add a special dimension and opportunity to reflect while there or on the drive to the next destination.
Your pace in achieving this milestone is awesome, and your gesture in doing this cache classy. Well done all around! Best of luck on every one of your next thousand.
Dave
Way to go G & G! Golly, we’ve still got a few left for you over in Winnebago County, too, so you can get a real bargain for #400! Congrats!
Way to go -cheeto-! Great choice of a cache for the milestone! Look forward to hitting the trail with you again soon. Keep those new caches coming, too. Nicely done!
Hey Justin! Better late than never, or how about just being the first to congratulate you on 1400 as I did look at your stats a moment ago and you might be logging it right now. Got to get together with you and steal a few FTFs from Rsplash some night!
He didn’t use phone-a-friend? Or e-mail? Great job! Looking forward to hooking up with you as we range further out your way and try to close the gap.
I’ve already heard the “my job is interfering with my caching” from the guy who got us jump-started at Christmas. Thanks again, for that! Pete, you just need to get an office in Appleton and you’ll blow by us in no time!
Great accomplishment, Brett! Hope someday to be able to follow in your footsteps. Sorry I missed out on meeting you at the campout, and look forward to that opportunity next year!
Thanks to all of you. I’ve been lucky enough to cache with or meet every one of you on the trail except K0rpl, and that’s overdue. Great players to be around, all of you. Thanks, again, and get over to finish mine off soon!
I don’t get enough time to check in often so I am going right to congrats on 1900 as I know by the time this gets posted you may have crossed that line already! Rsplash had the right idea but I’m hoping for rain so maybe I’ll log in here again before you hit another BIG one at 2000! Amazing pace Dennis and Lisa. Oh shucks, they are gone again!
