I know it easy for someone to be a critic, but this poll seems to be measuring how contented people are with the new logo. It does not seem to be geared to finding out what they like or dislike about it. It seems a bit confusing as to what the goal is for this.

As for GSAK, it looks too much like a database and I have tried to use it but couldn’t get it to work the way I wanted….I will eventually try to find someone to teach me how to use it though as I keep hearing how great it is….normally I’m very good at computer stuff….it could just be that I’m not willing to give it a real chance.
That WIKI page was great as it showed me lots of things that I was wondering about.
We’ve been using 300’s since October and I believe we’ve gotten the hang of them pretty well. I also use GSAK to manage my data and create exports to the Oregon. I’m by no means an expert at GSAK like Dave, but I’d be willing to share what I’ve learned.
Also the Wiki page is great. Per that page I would not load beyond firmware 2.6. Its what we are running and have not had any problems.
Perhpaps it wouldn’t seem like the new logo adoption is in question if the old logo wasnt still on top of the page reminding everyone to compare them.
Regrading the new logo, I think its great, it just needs a little more cowbell.

Boom Blox I believe is the game in question
Apparently there is another Wii owner here too.
Hmm the hammer and nail must be some 60’s reference that I’m not aware of. But along that same line, I searched GSAK, the GSAK forum and the macros area and cannot find a link to mapquest? Care to enlighten me on where to find that? I have the Google one that I run constantly.
Checked out Mapquest for rural areas, and its what I am looking for. Now at the risk of sounding ignorant, I cannot find the help on their site for importing or plotting waypoints? Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
Apparently, he is a very active sabbaticaler. What til he’s back in full force 😆

When you come across a puzzle that stumps you, there are two ways of getting help with it:
1. Contact the owner.
2. Contact other cachers who have solved / found it.
I feel both ways are acceptable. I use both ways myself.
And I know others do not always contact me for help on my puzzles.
BTW, one thing that is generally not done nor does it seem acceptable, is to post a request to a forum, such as this. I’m not sure why that is, but I’ve seen examples elsewhere where the requester is deluged with criticism for doing so.
Of the puzzle caches we have claimed as finds, one we did not solve and another one we had significant input into the collabrative effort to solve the puzzle. The rest we have managed to grind out ourselves (even after the find). Normally, I start by trying to determine the relationship between the puzzle and numeric coords. For example do I see 10, 14 or 15 distinct separations; is there something in the title that hints to a key or a common coding method; what does the HTML code look like.
What I would like to know is what other techniques do people use to hone in on the solution to a puzzle? I would like some things to add to my bag of tricks.
We wish to add our congrats to you as well. We’ve certainly enjoyed sharing the trails with you a few times

Wow thats a lot of cycling. Congrats on your milestone. You will always be remembered by us as the cacher who coined the phrase “duggles”
Way to go!

* Yes, Steve, I know that you don’t think it is possible for Sasquatch to be steathly!
Oh I know they are stealthy, otherwise there would be more pictures of them. The way you had that dog quaking in its boots made me realize what it must be like to actually run into one in the woods. I swear I could still hear it barking when we got to the cars! 😆
We (SammyClaws, GreendaleSRT4 and Mr. TIP (3Hawks)) managed to get through all the caches early and didnt find one gift certificate. We did like the little hand sanitizers though. But I agree, about putting that stuff in the bag of goodies. Although we really didnt look at that stuff until about 11:00 Saturday night after our second trip to Muggles. And that was after night caching at the boardwalk and sewage treatment plant. Maybe we could organize some group outings after the Saturday event is over to keep peope around for Sunday.
Unfortunately, I was not able to read the file Jeremy had sent the morning of the event, but did manage to download all the caches from GC.com so there were two less people requiring the download. It would be nice to get them the night before so one can plan a route.
How about a night cache on Friday night?
Also I agree, it would be nice to have something going on between the time you turn in your card and the drawings. We headed back to our room and watched TV. Perhaps some local vendors could set up some stands that we could purchase food at. A days each summer Saz’s sets up a grill in the courtyard of our office complex and sells, grilled chicken sandwiches, burgers, brats and hotdogs, chips and a soda. Maybe someone could come up with something like that.
These are only suggestions. We really enjoyed the event and plan on coming back next year even if nothing changes.
