So who does come up with the rules for the game. Someone/group came up with “no closer than .1 mile” and “no tobacco, firearms, knives.. in cache”. (Personally, I really would like to set up an adult cache … a Captain Morgan treasure chest of adult refreshments – just kidding)
So who ever it is that makes these rules, why not go to them and ask for a definitive answer???
While I think there was some merit to the show highlighting geocaching, I was also very disappointed. While I consider myself still a newbie, I have never seen a clear lock’n’lock laying on the ground under a tree. As someone already pointed out; bubble gum? Not only is it against the rules, but are you seriously going to eat that? And they really didnt stress the whole signing of the log – it seems they were more worried about the trading. Nor did they complete the process of logging the find. At a minimum they could have a graphic with a web address to find out more info. 🙁
Thank for the info and choosing that example; right near my house.
❗I did exactly what Wis Kid mentioned but I bought a refurbished Etrex yellow unit for the kids to use and got the cable off Ebay. Total 60.00 including the one year warranty. Nice inexpensive way to get a unit that you can download way points into.
That is good information, and I hear what you are saying about someplace central for people coming from different regions. Another club I belong to tries to pick spot based upon concentration of member as well. But then they don’t have 200 members in the whole club. Thanks!
I didn’t mean them as a suggestion but as an example. It still would be helpful to know how many people show up for an event like this as it may dictate where it could be held.
How many people show up for a picnic? There are a couple county parks in Waukesha that are very nice with pavilions, volleyball pits, swim ponds and some type of bathrooms.
