The bots are attacking!!!!
So the trick is to put some words before the #13 emoticon…
If it is, it just ate my post for #13 and sent it back to page 1 through the wormhole!
Professional sports, politics, and big business have taught us that cheating to get what you want is OK. While there are all sorts of personalities lurking behind geocaching names, I doubt that many people got into geocaching with the intent of cheating their way to the top. However, as they went along, the addiction took hold, and now they will do anything to get that “fix”… to increase their stats, to become well-known, to have better numbers than someone else. What is lost is why they got into the game. What is lost is their integrity.
I can’t control the integrity of other cachers, but I can control my own. I don’t have to stoop to their levels, to play their games, to sell myself out. By example, I can show other cachers that this isn’t a competition but a recreational activity. It isn’t about besting the other person, but challenging yourself.
Becca, I see three options for you: (1) Delete the bogus log and move on; (2) Leave the bogus log, but write a note immediately above it (if you can), kind of calling them out; (3) Copy the bogus log, include it in a CO comment note to the cache page, using their specific caching name and what they did, then delete their log.
There will always be bullies who take great enjoyment in ruining things for others. When geocaching ceases to be fun for me, that is when I will get out of the game. I will not let others use their words and their actions to dictate how I choose to spend my leisure time.
I should teach The Squirrel to count Cheap FTPs.
I should have gotten myself a squirrel before doing all those stats updates for the old drivel. 😕 😛
The old stats died with the old TS thread. Sorry. If it was fixable, I would have fixed it.
I can give the final “old” stats from the 6613 (I think) pages from before, but I don’t think BigJim will like them any better. I like the idea of starting fresh… and The Squirrel doing all the work!

I would like to keep the map Wisconsin only instead of one or two markers spread out across the country and the Wisconsin markers all packed together in a tiny part of the map. (sorry Noonan)
Looks like Wandering Tracks had better do some lobbying at Sunday’s HCH event to get more markers on the map that are north of Highway 64. 😉
Hooking up with some other cachers to look for bear bait tomorrow…hope it doesn’t get too boring. Am bringing my new edition of the FTP magazine along to read.
I did not know there was such a magazine, Bartrod… “FTP”, that is… 😉
Uhhhhh…. Noonan? I don’t think the map is big enough to mark where you live…

I was wrong… There’s one showing up in Ohio, so make your mark in Oregon, Noonan. 😀
Please forgive me for interjecting a few thoughts here. I hope I have not over stepped my bounds…
As a voter, I look at not only what you have to say but IF you say anything. Spelling and grammar don’t bother me if you have something to say, so say something! Don’t be afraid to express your thoughts and opinions. I like to see how each candidate will contribute to the activities of the BOD and the WGA, and contributing your answers in the candidates’ forum gives me some insight into this. I usually vote later rather than sooner, so I am always checking back in to see if there are any new answers to the questions that the WGA electorate has posed. I interpret, correctly or incorrectly, that silence indicates disinterest.
I was a huge baseball fan in the 1950’s and 60’s when Cubs and Braves fans cherished the opportunity to see Banks and Santo go up against Aaron and Mathews.
We always went to games at Wrigley where “22,000 unreserved seats went on sale every day”. Sat in the front row of the grandstand seats for $1.75, I think. My mom and my grandma would get in free on Ladies’ Day. There were some lean times, 1966 for sure, when they didn’t even open the upper deck of the grandstand. Parked on the side streets for free and walked a few blocks to the stadium. Always got Frosty Malts at the games. Day baseball… “Let’s play two!”
Mr. Cub Ernie Banks died… 🙁
Uhhhhh…. Noonan? I don’t think the map is big enough to mark where you live… 😆
Friday night in the forums. No one is here, but people are showing up on the new WGA members map! 😀
