Hi, Bartrod! Nice to have you back and to have you still “hip”!
Sure hope the dangerous wind chills that are causing tomorrow’s school cancelations don’t cause Shopko to cancel their Senior Day! π―
The above post did not take me back to page 1. That anomaly has been fixed or has run its course… for now.
:ftp:
Rodents used to bait owls may carry all sorts of diseases. I would think this would be especially so if lab rats were used… π
(Maybe squirrels and hamsters would be better options… π )
I don’t know what the story is that BBG linked to, but the drama could be the controversial (and generally frowned upon) practice of luring the birds in closer, sometimes with food, for better photos. Even approaching them or making noise to get them to fly is not good. Take the photos as you see them, using long lenses, if necessary… but no artificial means to set up any shots.
The WGA is a role-playing game? Cool!
“Participant” is fine. That’s what we are in the forums, and the BOD members are Moderators.
“Keymaster” is scary, though… You know… Zuul, and Gozer, and all that stuff. And the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man…I see everyone (myself included) listed as βparticipant.β Itβs been that way since the switch to the new site.
The “non-member” thing is in the upper left corner where you sign in. I am still a “participant” when I post.
I now can’t see any Recent Logs because I am told I am not registered or logged in, but I am.
I’m still shown as a non-member… Wishful thinking on someone’s part? π
Eh, birds, schmirdz.
π
Right now Winter Storm Gorgon is between you and that bird, Birdin’. I’d stay put and see where the bird ends up after that.
Our avatars look bigger now. Maybe It’s all the weight we gained over the holidays! π
Good thing you double-checked that message, Noonan! The way it sounds, though, you probably don’t get very many snow days where you are now.
Doing <img src=”/wp-content/images/emoticons/FTP.gif”> takes you to first post in this thread if that is all you write
I think it has something to do with the emoticon notation. It was doing the same thing when I was trying to post just the #13 smiley.
Post #10 on page #67 will be new drivel post #1000.
Deja Drivel?
Drivel Redux?
Drivel Part Deux?
Drivel The Sequel?
Re-Drivel?
Drivel Junior?
Drivel 2.0?The really loooooong C&P logs are even more annoying. I don’t care how good they are… If the looooong part is all about every little last detail of their trip, even the stuff halfway across the country from us, I don’t need to see it repeated on every single cache log that they write.
Another annoying “covers it all” log is when they said what they did at *some* of the caches: “Replaced some logs, replaced some containers, DNFed a few, had some trouble finding some others, dropped some trackables in some (this was one of them)”…. How does that help anyone who follows know what exactly occurred at any one given cache? And as for that “this was one of them” part about the trackables… even that was a C&P, since it was on every cache log, and some of those hides were tiny micros…
I love reading good logs, but as a CO, I want to know what your experience was at our cache. Were things OK or do we have to go out and do some maintenance? A log telling us about adventures over the last three weeks, giving statistics for every type of hide you found or how many you found in each state, or that you visited Mount Rushmore when you were in South Dakota, while entertaining the FIRST time we read it, does not tell us anything about what is going on with that particular cache that we own. And ultimately, that is what is the most important to us as COs.
