OK. I’m finally in, and Todd’s post is from a more realistic seven-plus hours ago instead of the two-hour figure that sat there for a while.
FYI, I logged in, but when I went to check on a page, it said I wasn’t logged in. Didn’t matter which page. I’ve been trying since sometime after 5:00 (I was gone all afternoon.)
ZB’s snow fort is up for favorite video clip of the year at the Green Bay station that came out to his place to interview him and get a tour of the fort in February. This poll only let me vote once, but I’m going to try again tomorrow, just in case it’s once a day. I figured the drivelers would be good for a few votes, plus you can get another chance to see the marshmallow kingdom again.
And where is that DSK on the new site? I haven’t seen him here yet…

I have been unable to figure out how to vote for COTM. I think that site doesn’t know that I am logged in already. I find no little spots to click on, nor does it show if I have found a particular cache.
I don’t think hanging chads are the problem here… 😉
Christmas lights 1 Trekkin’ and Birdin’ 0
Check the string, replace the duds, put it up…doesn’t work now! Plug it back in on the floor, it appears a bunch of lights on half the string blew…now we’re replacing those.
Personally I think it’s time to go to Target.
Christmas is the season of miracles. We experienced a minor miracle ourselves yesterday. We were putting the outside lights up on the front porch, and all of them checked out OK… of course. Then, once they were all up, the second half of the second string was out. We decided not to mess with things, since this would be the bottom rail and wouldn’t look too bad unlit. However, we carefully pushed in the non-lit bulbs one by one, and… poof! They lit up! Hands off from then on till it’s time to take them all down.
Like I said… a minor miracle.
This FTP sat for over an hour… true proof that the FTP has lost its luster. 🙄
As per Archived forums…
Perhaps they could be grouped into folders such as Past Candidates Forums, Past Event Discussions, Past Event Committees… This would save some space in the whole listing of possible forums, even though they are down at the bottom of the long list. It might make for easier navigation, too.
Also, the past event committees, which were private and some of which still are listed as private, are visible to all who happen to cruise through those posts. Again, I feel like a voyeur when I am checking some of those out.
I know that the organization’s archives are important, and that they contain a lot of history, and what is public should be made available for all to research, but I would expect there to be a longer statute of limitations before certain “private papers” were made public (unless court-ordered, you know). 😉
As per Committees/Leadership forums…
All of them are showing to me, but all are blocked except for the ones I am on. However, those two committees show (to me) only the posts that I started and none of the other topics or discussion.
It would also be nice, if possible, not to have any of the other committees even show up on my forums. I feel like I’m lurking, even though I’m not and can’t get in if I wanted to.

Not Charter.
It seems that when I log in, it never shows me as logged in until I leave the initial page, even though I clicked “submit” or whatever. I can live with that and the other weirdness.
I am going to try to switch my avatar to my Christmas one, so I will see how that works. As far as the new website goes, I am taking a page from the state parks motto: “EXPLORE AND ENJOY”
I would welcome some help in debugging the issue since I can’t re-create it or find any info on what might be causing it.
I can only give you the above anecdotal help… and a can of Raid.
Here is what I have experienced, though not all the time and not all at once….
* I log in, and the site doesn’t show that I’m logged in. I go to the forums anyway, and I show as logged in.
* I’m logged in, it shows that I’m logged in, I go to make a post on the current drivel page, and I am told that I can’t post unless I am logged in. I still show as logged in. I go to the previous page to make my comment, and there is a space to do that so I do. The comment shows up on the current page as a new comment (which it should).
* I’m not logged in, but I just want to see if there are any new posts. It shows that last post as being, say, by CTQ nine minutes ago. I go back in twenty minutes; it show that last post was by CTQ nine minutes ago.
* In the above situation, whether logged in or not, when I go into the forums, I see more posts… or not… and the time of the post makes it not that long ago. If I do the math, the time always seems to add up to the top of the hour: a post at 8:43 will say it was made 17 minutes ago… but it is maybe 10:36 when I am looking at it.
That’s a good solution to your dilemma, Pete. We loved those rebus clues, and we loved the whole series. Maybe a few more cachers will get to enjoy the puzzle part of the set now, although taking a walk on the the Wild Side will still be a requirement for these caches… which is what makes them extra fun.
I wonder what the people that found my bug hotel did with it today?
