“No actual puzzle caches were used in the holding of this event.”
Examples could be made up for demonstration purposes. There would be no need to use real puzzles except that it would be easier. Too many people want answers to one specific puzzle cache and don’t care to learn how to do the thinking on their own.
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
Chatauqua has a point. We attended a puzzle workshop put on by Marc after less than six months of caching, and we learned a lot there. I don’t mean the coordinates of any puzzle finals, but real ways to attack a puzzle cache. Sometimes even now, I look at a puzzle cache and find myself figuring it out by using something that was told to us in the class.
And just remember that we were all newbies once, and while things like hiding information on the cache page by writing it in white may seem basic, the first time I saw that I was blown away. How neat!
Welcome, Chris! That WGA logo helps spread the word, and it appears to be working! You made it this far, so come back often to share and to learn and to ask questions. I saw your pathtag idea in another forum, and there are quite a few members here who have pathtags as an interest, so if you need help with that or anything else, ask away!
Welcome, and welcome back to caching! There are usually several smaller events going on in the SE part of Wisconsin, so check the “Events” section in the “Website Navigation” menu on the left side of this page to see what is going on when.
And feel free to travel all over to meet fellow cachers at any event that strikes your fancy!
It’s beautiful here! I keep taking photo after photo! Town, country… you name it!
Also, the new stairway at Roche-a-Cri State Park is open, and the views at the top and along the way are great! Not quite the color you will see when the oaks turn, but still some nice views. Great weekend to be camping in the park, too. You shouldn’t have any trouble getting a site if you decide to go at the spur of the moment.
Great news! Mark and I were out in the woods today, too, and that’s good therapy. We thought a month was a long time, but for as long as Chris was incapacitated… Yikes!
Nice to see Gram and Gramps knocking off the caches again!
This photo was taken on WRR 50, where you can find two caches: GC1Y7TW and GC20CD8.
This will also be a good time to go west of Mauston in Juneau County to see GC355EM and to try some of the Great Pumpkin Trail caches.
There is an event in Mauston (about 20 miles NW of the Dells) that has a contest for that day only (October 20). Otherwise, you can do the new caches they put out for that at any time you want, but no contest. There is also a Meet & Greet the night before.

The ordered coins were shipped USPS today. Look for them in your mail this week.
Thanks to everyone who came! The weather started out nasty (with sticking snow for some folks coming from the north!), and the wind and the rain had their moments, but there was still lots of sun and lots of fun!
You can always share your email addresses through the GC communications, then send the photos through regular email.

Tribute: to old silver is a cache that requires you to have at least a 1000 finds. I have only 104 left to find
Have a GC# or link?
It’s a puzzle cache in the Fox Valley: GC214BC
Nice job on the 4000, Hearty Soles! Looks like a fun cache to do on a beautiful day with friends. Congrats!
Nope. 😉
