I like how the percentages for I don’t know or I don’t remember are 0%. It just goes to show how memorable that first experience is.
Good comment, beccaday. I agree!
More perch in Fremont this evening.
Congratulations on “dancing in the moonlight” for #3000, RNS!
OK, now who wants to buy the two rolls of vintage film we found when we were doing some organizing last month?
We’ve been digital since 2005. 😆Here was our first log:
“Got the GPS unit today and decided to get out (finally!) and find a cache. We actually found a few hours of sun today, and had a great hike in fall color to find our first cache. Log was dry, but goodies were damp.
Thanks, Lil Otter and Sadowski Family, for the caches in one of our favorite state parks!”
We uploaded a photo for that one, too… a sign of things to come. Not a TFTC, but not exactly the novel I could have written for that find either.
😉

The first cache I found had only been in play a couple weeks when I found it. I was the fifth to find it. It was archived less than a year later. I replaced it with another cache by the same name within 24 hours.
Just found that one, BigJim. Gave me the idea for this topic. 😀
Most of the issues brought up here are not exclusive to the Coulee Region, and most places in the state have caches that people ignore. The difference here is that it has gotten personal, and things have been said in the forums here that are better left to the private FB group or, better yet, discussed rationally and productively in person amongst all parties involved to air grievances and come up with some kind of solution.
If this had been kept general, it would be more meaningful to Wisconsin cachers. The “discussion” here has devolved into something that does not show Wisconsin geocaching in a favorable light. One of the missions of the WGA is to promote geocaching in the state of Wisconsin, not tear it down.
I would like to see the mean-spiritedness and personal agendas on both sides stop.
The “boycott” images have been removed. Perhaps the boycott can also be removed and people can move on. Too much caching fun to be had out there for either “side” to feel like they have to worry about such things.
Hey, Team Northwoods, the machine can’t do everything. You still have to do the finding! 😆
And it looks like you’re doing that just fine with your #200 milestone. Congratulations! 😀
Way to go, Swamphog! Nice way to make that 1000-finds milestone even more memorable!
Congratulations on the 2500 finds, Pete! I’d throw you a line to pull you out of that quicksand, but I don’t do swamps! 😈
Looks like you had fun with this milestone. Keep on enjoying the outdoors. 8)
Every topic and thread here has the potential of turning into drivel. We are that kind of people! 😉
At least the mission was accomplished before the driveling started.
I think it’s in the job description that the WGA president has to visit every cache that has been logged in the state to verify that there is an actual signature on the log sheet. I know that that part of the job really wore Labrat out!
