Practicing for Thursday, amita? π
a long overdue :13:
I do not see a post by Linda in this thread. I responded the way I did because Lois had visited our challenge cache yesterday and posted this query. I knew she was talking about our challenge hide.
Not to name names, but this was a log note posted soon after publication of the challenge over three years ago:
“Five more to go… maybe some April Showers for Adams county” That cacher still hasn’t claimed the challenge…π π π π π π
The sunflower is back!
I had to check on jar42’s progress in reducing the rodent population in East Sandland. Since his garage door is closed every time we drive by now, I’m curious as to what nefarious things are going on under that shroud of secrecy…
If you get a chance to stop by GC6E0VQ, make sure to stop by the house!
:like:
It’s our “Tour de Adams County Challenge”. GC44REQ It’s lonely because not many take the time to find caches in all parts of Adams County. The final isn’t hard to get to, and the 19 qualifying caches can all be P&Gs if one so chooses. We do check that those claiming smileys have met the challenge.
We still havenβt gotten to Crater Lake or SF.
We visited Crater Lake for a few hours back in 1990. Returning again this summer and spending the night there. The next day we thought we head a bit southeast to find some caches in Noonanville before moving on to CA. Wonder if the locals are friendly…
While we have viewed Spider Island from above many times, we have not revisited the island itself since we found the cache there in September of 2008. I do not remember any guardians, so they must have appeared since our visit. I do remember that there were a lot of spots that the ammo can (as the container was at the time) could be hidden. It sounds like there are many more new hiding spots now.
Can’t say for sure, but we have talked about caching that side of Petenwell for a while now, so maybe… and that’s a big “maybe”… we could venture down the bluff or stairs this week or next to see what we can find. However, it does sound like the last visitor prior to Labrat made a thorough search in the summer (no snow) almost three years ago and came up empty.
It’s a nice place to visit, cache or no cache, and as Labrat says, now would be a really good time to make an attempt at a find (or a DNF) before this one goes away… or gets saved by someone’s extensive search.
New drivel rule: NO POSTING WHILE MISTER GT IS AT WORK.
Yes, our deck was wet and not from melting craphas! No downpours, though. I think that is predicted for Tuesday.
Had a nice little batch of storms just roll through. The thunder was distant, so nothing major here.
And now it’s time…

My date doesn’t work out right that way. It says February 15, which is not the date I joined. It also says I renewed last month, which I never did, unless just coming on the site and posting something was re-registering.
