Ticks… bummer.
Gee… It was only eight days ago I started this thread. In the time since, we were able to place a cache, check on the status of a disabled one and get it enabled, do maintenance on some others, and get some coords for a few new hides. With most of the snow melting, we’re getting out in a couple of days after some more drying to get our other two disabled caches going again. Yes, a lot of places are still soggy, but I think we may have made it through another caching winter! Yippee!

By the way, the no bugs thing is guaranteed or your money back. 😉
Oh. So you’re thinking December now? 😉

The weather will be perfect- blue skies, warm sun, no bugs, the rustle of the green leaves in the 5 mph wind, and the water cold and gurgling down the river. We are thinking of making a long afternoon and perhaps even early evening of it.
Campfire????? 😀 😀 😀
Logistics: Everyone parks at Jordan Lake and gets boats and paddlers ferried upriver to the starting point?
Any benefit (or space) to park individually at the start, offload watercraft and paddlers, go down river, land at Jordan, and have someone drive people only back to starting point (while others keep an eye on canoes at Jordan)? With all the upcoming events on Saturdays, is there a month in mind to do this? Green leaves and no bugs are usually mutually exclusive. 😉

Looking forward to it, as I love coming up to Ashland County, and the Barnes Babes are the best.

Agree about the BB, but Barnes is in Bayfield County.
But I am surprised that a CITO event is needed north of Highway 64, where everything is so pristine and sparkling clean. 😉

Anybody have some pros and cons as to the type of canoe to look for.
One person? Two person? Whitewater? Flat water? How to transport it? Kayak? “How long can you tread water?”
Whatever you get, buy a good life preserver and WEAR IT! Can’t do its job if it’s not employed.
Yeah. What the Rat said.
This sounds good, OPS. Canoeing we can do, if it’s pretty much flat water for our boat. And a warm day with picnicking… 8) 8) 8)

To get back on-topic, having the higher limit on PQs will make it much easier for people (like me) who want to keep an accurate, state-wide database of caches. Maintaining that many PQs has become “unwieldy”.
I like seeing how you use that database, TBC, and we really like when you share some of those stats with the rest of us. Glad the higher numbers will help you with that, but on our outings, we tend to lean towards the Cheezehead numbers instead of the Mojave ones, so 500 or 1000… won’t make much difference to us.
Thanks.

Hey Jay,
come May, let’s put the GPSrs away for a day and walk this stream with a pole for a while.Thought he just did that with Roosevelt… 😉
Started with the eTrex H, just got the eTrex Legend HCx. Both are good, but we don’t use GPS maps much. Getting used to the extra features on the new one now. Has the capability of adding more maps from any source.
Like the H in a receiver for quicker and better lock on the satellites. Higher sensitivity. Went the WalMart order route both times. The new one came direct to home for a couple of bucks in just four days.
And you’ll love geocaching as an outdoor activity, especially for the kids. Come back to the forums if you need more info on anything, or just to share your adventures.
Can’t open. Don’t have Office. PDF, maybe?

but I suspect we’ll know sooner or later.
Or maybe it’s NOT about the numbers… 😯
