Bubble wrap: fifty years old today.
Found this down in twentieth spot.
The weather was… acceptable. But it definitely made being inside with fellow cachers surround by good food and drink all the more enjoyable. A special thanks to uws22 and the people at Monk’s for making this event possible. And thanks to those who made the trip to the Dells in questionable weather (only a half hour’s drive for us), the true spirit of caching.
Think it used to be harder to change the name. Explain the situation if you have to, like you’re doing it to keep the marriage intact or whatever. 😉
I like Stamper and Scout. Will people not recognize you if you’re not Team Outdoorsman anymore? Your wife can always start her own account and go back and log under her own name any previous team finds that she was there for.
Congratulations on hitting #20,000, ecorangers! We’d tell you that you can slow down now, but since there are still 950,000 or so out there that you haven’t found yet… 😉
Great job on cache find #100, Lady22!

But Marc, This cache is the exact geographic center, and the one where I’d cross my lines.
I’m thinking that maybe the exact geographic center is something like if you put the state on a pin there, the whole thing would be equally balanced. Since Wisconsin is odd-shaped (and full of oddballs), it won’t balance where the straight lines cross.
Michigan has a series of the farthest east, west, north, and south caches in the state, which would be OK here except for the south, which would have to be outlined with a series of micros 0.1 miles apart. 😉
Lots of ways you could go with this idea.

😯 😯 😯 Thanks for the extra thousand, GR!
And we guess we’d better thank everyone for their congratulations on our milestone (700, not 1700 😉 ). Not a big one, not a spectacular one, but an enjoyable one just the same. For some the milestones go by in the blink of an eye while for others it takes quite a while.
We don’t get out much in the winter, with the snow and the cold, but there are all sorts of caches to find in all types of weather and seasons. We’ll be back on the long hikes once the snow melts, maybe even tackling a hill or two (but no swamps). Meanwhile, it only takes a find or two every so often to keep us going, so pardon me while I go check out some spots for our next caching outing…
Thanks, everyone!
Congratulations on the #1900 finds, and stay out of trouble!
I think you can get 100 path tags for less than $400. It’s like $100 for the first 50, then you can order more. If you want your design to be basically your avatar, it should fit easily on a path tag and look pretty good.
Path tags don’t necessarily travel like geocoins do (though they can), but then geocoins go missing a lot. If you just want something to share with friends, trade with others, or to just place in caches to “share the cheeze”, I would go with the path tags.

Have you looked at Antarctica?
Wow! Year-round winter caching!
But I do think they have caches there.@gotta run wrote:

So, what interesting looking places and caches have you discovered that you’ll probably never visit, but wish you could?
What? You guys haven’t made your plans for that one already? 😉
Now I have to start thinking about some places and then check them out for any caches. Hmmm-mmm…Yep, we’ve seen you lurking… Post as much or as little as you want, but keep coming back. You can learn lots of stuff here and may find yourself spending way too much time here, but it’s lots of fun, as is geocaching. Welcome!
How about going with pathtags?
