Do what you can, Jeremy. Thanks. I miss the Recent Logs. 🙁
If you have the opportunity to buy some trekking poles, get them. They can be used summer or winter. I got mine in July and found them to be very useful when we tackled hills (up and down) or did long hikes (help with the rhythm). I’ve even used them to help “vault” over small streams and mucky areas.
Yes, they are one more thing to carry, and I have set them down in spots only to briefly forget about them when leaving. But even going into some deep snow yesterday for short distances I regretted not bringing them along to help with balance (hence, a couple of butt prints ). And mine collapse, so if you don’t want to use them in spots, you can still add them to the pack to bring along.

I would say the update may have also broken our site’s “Recent Logs” functionality. May be too early to tell but I don’t think that function was processing new logs from the page it is directed at when the new updated site was up later this afternoon.
Considering this site update modified many aspects of how the page looks, perhaps this recent logs process could be impacted?
Couldn’t figure out why no one else was out caching on this lovely day, considering that even WE were out and about! No trouble logging our finds (didn’t try till just a bit ago), but I like seeing who else found what.
Agree: too much white. Dislike the “double space” look–too much like term papers! 🙄 But then again I’m not good with change…

’cause guardrails just don’t lend themselves to a group hunt.
I remember having fun finding nanos on street signs with a small group last year about this time… 😉

So Pat, are you going to come swampin’ with us? 😉
Heck, no!
Why does everyone like to gather for swamps and other water? 🙁
I was thinking of a winter version, too, BakRdz, but thought about all of the “wrong” versions that would need to be made. The geotrails would look different in each! Of course, a false trail to each spot could probably have been made beforehand, but if not: “Oh, gee. Wonder where that one trail in the snow leads?” 🙄 😉

I’ve been caching in the Wisconsin Rapids area by myself the last few months. I’ve made a few hides in the greater Wisconsin Rapids metropolitan area 😀 (Just hid my 6th yesterday, only 3 of which are lame micros)
I expect to have find #50 under my belt within a few weeks.I’ve been caching alone, so it’s pretty slow-going for now.
I’m looking forward for Spring time when the snow melts, hopefully things will speed up.My goal is to accumulate 250 finds by the end of the year. To a lot of you, Im sure thats nothing. But for me, it’s just a goal, an achievable goal.
I may surprise myself, who knows?250 finds in a year is definitely an achievable goal. Think we had a bit over 200 in our first year of caching. Things pick up when the snow leaves and the weather warms up. You’ll be surprised how many caches you’ll be able to go for, either by yourself or with others. Lots of opportunity in central Wisconsin!

Happy belated b’day BlueCougar and Sandlanders.
I’m still working on Sandlanders “Turn a New Page” down by the boatlanding. Only like 4 or 5 attempts and an equal number of DNF’s. I suppose I’ll get it eventually. I’m determined.
I think Im the only person on that one with a DNF, and then someone comes along and calls it a Park & Grab. Embarrassing. 🙂Thanks for the birthday wishes, Helidood.
And that cache is NOT a park and grab, so don’t be embarrassed. Lots of people just don’t write DNF logs for caches for whatever reason, but that doesn’t help the cache owners (maybe it went missing) or other cache seekers (like you, they may think they’re the only ones who can’t find a cache).
So keep caching, log DNFs where you gave good efforts, keep putting out caches for others to find (we have yet to look for any of yours), and have fun.
Just got through reading all the logs from the Wild Side today. Glad for a couple of storytellers (one a professional) who like to share the details of an adventure. Having done all of these caches, we relived the fun through the tales of TBC and T&B, and we were glad to see that they experienced some of the same challenges (like the search at #4? 😉 ). But we can’t believe you got off so easy at #6! 👿 You need to return to that one in the fall, and Labrat needs to put that ammo can back where it was!
Glad the weather cooperated this weekend, and thanks for sharing your walk on the wild side. And thanks to Labrat for creating the cache series.

Watch out for frozen quicksand! 😯
I just hope someone gives us a report on the quicksand, or we’ll need to plan our own trip out there to see what it looks like in winter, and I don’t really want to do that! 😯

I looked in four places, but I finally got it. Pretty typical of a cache outing for me.
Us, too. And then we would do maybe 5-6 more like that, and the day would be over.

Took me nine tries, so I better stick to the real thing.
You were having all of that trouble because you weren’t going for the FTF on this one, CJ.
Nice! And I didn’t have to wade through any snow to make the find. 😀
