Congratulations!

I was giggling to myself as I read Sandlanders comment about the lost glasses as I tried to find her glasses at a nearby cache in the winter. Then I just realized that I too, am part of that club as I lost my sunglasses at a cache near Wausau. I guess it is more common than I thought.
Yep. Many thanks for the attempt, Labrat, but I found them myself four months later after the snow had melted. I do believe yours are still missing, though. 😉
Now back to your regularly scheduled posting here.

Plus, I’ve already had my lost glasses rescued from a cache site
Hey, you’re official now. Welcome to the WGA, geocaching, and the Lost Glasses at Caches Club! 8)
Sounds like something ritualistic, kind of like the black monolith bit at the start of “2001: A Space Odyssey”

Just wish I would have gotten into it a bit sooner.
We felt like we’d missed the boat when we got started a couple of years ago … the heady, wild and wooly days of early geocaching, like back in ought one or ought two. 😉 But it’s what you make of it in the here and now, and things are always changing and evolving and blending into something else. People play how they want and put in and get out what they want, and it’s been a lot of fun and still will be fun for us.
So welcome to geocaching, and a big welcome to the best part about it … meeting all sorts of new people. And there’s no better place to do it than here unless you’re out on the trails or at an event.
So who all went and how did things go?
We really enjoyed doing “Along the Trail” (GCGRAM) for a nice hike with a unique twist. There is water involved, but you should be able to avoid it easily.
Close by is “Wayside Cavernous Cache” (GCA37C) that is reached from the southbound wayside on I-39 just south of Coloma. You can also take the Ice Age Trail to the wayside from the parking spot for “Along the Trail”. We have been there twice and still haven’t found the container. Wouldn’t want to try it with snow and ice, but some have done it. No water involved, just lots of rock scrambling.
We are thankful for all of our geofriends, and for all of those in geocaching who are so wiling to share their knowledge, talents, and experiences with others.
A blessed holiday to each and all.
Way to go on the 1000 finds, Lacknothing!
Oh, yeah . . . Winter caching = fun. 🙄 It’s coming!

Congrats! Love the 666 milestone! Too bad you didn’t catch a fitting one for it like T&B mentioned.
Who says aliens can’t be evil, demonic, and sinister? They’re not all E.T., you know. But the puzzle and the terrain were a lot nicer to us than the cache you have planned for 666. And we might just take you up on that 777 offer if we can keep track of our count around that time. 🙂
??? ??? ??? !!! !!! !!!
Yeah, we made a point of going for that number, but we found a couple of caches today, so no one has to look at that evil “666” for our finds anymore. 😈
Actually, we had tried for 667 that same day but came up with a DNF.
Don’t know what is accepted practice, but if you adopt a cache, it’s yours to do with as you like. Changing container size may even be necessary, and while changing the D/T ratings may mess up some peoples’ stats, if you feel there is a good reason to do it, go ahead.
If you have adopted what may be considered a “classic” cache, you may not want to mess with it too much because previous finders may not like to see one of their favorites changed, and future finders may want to have the same experiences with the cache that many cachers before them had.
Unless there’s a reason not to, you can leave the original cache owner’s cache page up, with a reference that you are the new owners, or you can highlight it some way to say that this was how the original cache was and then go write your own stuff. It’s always best to give credit to the original placers of the cache no matter how much or how little you change the hide.
