Because the purpose of a revisit is to check to see if everything is ok, which is the same thing an owner maintenance visit does. Same reason that you can’t have multiple people logging revisits on a cache during the same cycle.

I think in the first year of the LCG, there could be multiple “maintenance” visits by different cachers for LCG points. That was one of the rules changes for 2009. If the cache was deemed “good” by somebody, why should another get points for doing the same check? Finds, a different story.

Apologies to the rest of Team GR. Didn’t think everyone went on EVERY lonely cache run . . . 😉

Kind of the reverse of the usual: a NON-geocacher calling the police to check out a suspicious container that IS a geocache.

Thanks for the amazingly quick answers. I may have to try the game this month, and see how I do.

Just go looking for some of the ones on the list near you (or wherever you want to travel), and even if you don’t find them, log the DNF and submit for points for that, too. And if you do find a Lonely Cache, more points, plus everyone gets to see that the cache is still there! And even if someone finds it before you in the two-month period, you can still claim your find for the LCG, as can other finders. Then it goes off the list for the next period.

Gotta run didn’t find any lonely caches all last year (I think), but he seems to have had a bit more success at the game in 2009. 😉 Never too late to start!

Closing your eyes will not help.

Mighty Cheezehead will always be near!

You call four hours away “near”?

Yes, thanks, Team Deejay. And I think someone has already started his engines and is off and “run”ning!

Thank you, Lauryn and her mom and dad!!!!!! It’s not about the numbers, but sometimes 1 or 1.5 in the “terrain” spot looks pretty good! Looking forward to doing a “stroll” or two at the picnic.

Thanks to the temp hiders and to those who placed all of the permanents in the park and in the area.

“Pike Powder Hike”?????? As in GC3B1, the oldest cache in Wisconsin???? Never heard of it.
Vegas Gamblers???? As in the cachers from the Milwaukee area who just found cache #600 of their geocaching career????? Never heard of them either.

But if we had, we would definitely be congratulating them on their recent milestone! 😉

Had an enjoyable time watching the neighbor kids go off for their first days in grades 5, 7, and 9. Sullen, half-asleep teens and tweens, a far cry from their eager faces a few years ago. Short sleeves and no jacket on one. Brr-rrrrr, but she made a fashion statement. 😉

How did your day go if this was the first day of school for you and your family?
