How lame. We’ll get on the Pet Peeves thread for sure now. But congrats on the post, VG! 😀 Think you might be catching up to Mathman, too.
06/30/2009 at 2:42 am in reply to: Nurse Pat and DR Rounds both get 700 at Happy Hollow Event #1910326Sounds like a fun way to get a milestone. Congrats on #700 to both!
Not to hijack my own thread, but it seems that geocaching has evolved to a point where good hides in good places don’t always have to stick around. We placed our caches with the intent that they could stay there until they were compromised in some way (a couple of them might need tweaking soon after some possible disabling). In some areas it looks like finders and hiders like to mix things up every so often.
Congrats on #500, huggiebear2u!

just one in the stands reaching over the railing to snag a foul ball here and there!
And some of us have Uecker seats . . .

If Dave could give a ballpark idea of the cutoff date for the new list, those who have interest can research the list themselves.
Hmm-mmmm. Is someone looking to get a big jump on July?
2000 sounds like a nice round number. Way to go, ranger_rob!
Way to go on #400, im n eagl !!!
And glad to have provided the fun for you at cache #2500. Congrats on the nice number, Dave! Glad you can stop once in a while to smell the roses, though. 😉
Bumping this one up after seeing all the LCG postings approved recently. Wow! All that work by Dave is exceeded only by all the work of those seeking out the Lonelies.
And in a bit of preemptive action, let’s give Dave a bit of a breather to finish up June before getting on his case about the new LCG list.
Another big “THANK YOU!” for all of the LCG work.
I do that a lot, too, amita17. The caches pages are still there to look at, but the only way I can find them is if I know who placed the cache (it should appear on their profile under Caches Owned) or if I know of someone who found it (same thing under Caches Found). If you know of a cacher in the area of the archived cache, you can look to see if he/she found it and go from there, but that could be hit or miss. Sometimes you can see archived caches referenced here in Recent Logs, and I sometimes click on those to see why they were archived.
If you record DNFs on any caches and they are later archived, you can look that up in your own cache logs and a click will let you see the archived cache page. Another reason to log your DNFs. 😉 A note as a cache log will do the same thing, too.
But as for the other, maybe someone else here can enlighten us.
Liked the parallel world thing, too, but if we were really in another parallel world when we were out caching, we wouldn’t have to worry about muggles. They wouldn’t see us in their world, would they?
“No physical marks”? What about all of that telltale orange stuff that Cheetos leave behind when you even get close to them?

With so many spots getting taken – all over, not just Washington County, it would be great if more people archived and allowed new caches in… just my opinion.
Oh, yeah . . . I remember that topic a while back. No cache saturation problem here, but volunteer trails pop up frequently. And caches do get raided or go missing.
Liked the tricorder and parallel world references. Think I’ll use those instead of the old Tupperware in the woods analogy. Now if we could only get that transporter technology to make trips to GZ much easier (but then would everything be considered Level 5–special equipment needed?).
