The Buckhorn sites are walk-in (with carts available), and most are right on the lake. You can get your boat right up to the shore, if you have one. Also, only pit potties and lots of room to yourselves, perfect if it’s a guys’ relaxing weekend.

Exit #69 on I-90/94 at Mauston, then another 10 miles or so–probably at your limit.

When we first noticed the LCG, I took it to mean that only one cacher/team could make the find for points. After all, the cache is no longer lonely once someone has found it. We pushed ourselves to find a couple before anyone else did, and then we noticed that other caches would have several finds, and being first didn’t matter in points, unless maintenance was involved.

I would read the LCG reports and find that sometimes several cachers made the find (at different times) on a cache, and if it was in the first month of the two-month cycle, more cachers would find it again the second month.

Would something like only one find for points or maybe a tiered system (10 for first find, 5 for second, 2 for third, or whatever) be too limiting on the “crazies”? Or would that send the real enthusiasts farther afield to score points, and hopefully to come up with finds and maintenance in areas where the lonlies still remain lonelies?

When the “Up Nort” map is drawn, there will be center point for the TEs, then a 50-mile-radius circle around that point with nothing in it!

Get rid of “revisit” points, which in my opinion are lame.

The revisits are valid because that confirms that a cache is still in place (as opposed to a DNF by someone who maybe didn’t know quite where to look), and maintenance is usually done on those visits. The problem with multiple revisits was dealt with early in the game, if I remember correctly.

As a side note, it was the Lonely Cache Game that first got us to join the WGA. The name in the bookmark lists caught my eye and we went for a lonely cache. After all the work we did to find that cache, we found out that we needed to be members of the WGA to submit our LCG find, so we made the big leap and here we are!

Oh, and make that corridor along both sides of Highway 51 “The Petrified Forest” for the SadowskiFamily (although they have many other great caches besides their famous “trees”). Let’s make the rest of Waushara County the Fiefdom or “Wild Side”‘ (chime in here on preferences, Labrat).

Honeybunnies and Bandits and others need to fill in Plover and Point, and the Rapids area has many cachers and contributors there with no real “theme”. Then we need to get maps of other parts of the state for those people to stake their claims. Lots of earthcaches in the Milwaukee area . . .

Is this how our legislators do the redistricting every ten years?

If Sandland is based on geology, you have it right. However, Sandlandersland is a bit smaller, with borders of: the river/lakes to the west, say Highway 21 or Highway C to the north, the county line to the east and Highway 82 to the south. Adams-Friendship is pretty much in the center. And with Friendship as part of this area, I will re-emphasize that we are FRIENDLY cachers, and no guards are posted.

And we thank -cheeto- for his lack of puzzle placements here, but we still have yet to try all of his “Fav” fishing spots.

Adams County is known as Sand County, but we welcome everyone, including people from Sellzup (-cheeto-), who have placed many caches in the northwest part of the county, which is part of VacationWorld along the lakes. We share the area with SadowskiFamily, and historically, this is Lil Otter territory. Many others inhabit the area, with sloughfoot and bugsmasher69 to the south and nala beans to the west. Farther west is Shrek and Fiona’s swamp, and then the Trekkin’ and Birdin’ hill country.

BTW, on the new map the label for Winneconne obliterates the home of the Captain of the Guard for Sellzup, who seems to have his own little fiefdom on the (wild) side.

Nice to see us on the map, but in unclaimed territory.

This new map is much better than the old one bacuse it doesn’t have any of those dead zones between kingdoms. Now there are definite boundaries to be disputed. It will be entertaining for us observers to watch them shift. 😉
