We did Pewit’s Nest last year for our EC souvenir, same weekend. No hunters, but hordes of people there! They have extended the parking area so that about 45 cars can park there now, as opposed to 15 before, but whatever you do, if there is no parking in the lot, DO NOT PARK ON THE ROAD! They had so much trouble with that over the summer that cars were being towed without any warnings being given. With as warm as Sunday is supposed to be, there might even be people in the water and perhaps cliff diving. It will be a zoo. Just don’t get too close to the edge when you are on the top.

I wouldn’t mind attending, depending on the date and time. Location is no problem as long as it’s not after dark or snowing.

Right now ours are boxelder bugs, mostly on the west side in the afternoon. For me, much worse. Had huge globs of them where we lived as a kid. I remember my dad taking a flame thrower to them once. (They were on a tree, not the side of the house.)

Souvenir was announced on October 6. Submit events to be published as normal; once published, then apply to be GIFF site. One-hour reel of 16 mini-movie finalists submitted to GC from cachers about geocaching. Approved GC events that meet the requirements will get the OK to show the movies and be an official GIFF event for the souvenir.

I have taken only two trips that involved flying, and both times we returned on overnight flights, so that was really bad (going west to east). However, we have done many driving trips, and going west through the time zones was always easier because we were picking up an hour and had more time for driving or doing stuff when we got to our night’s destination. It was only one time zone at a time, too. Never had any jet lag on our driving trips. 😉
