I’m thinking that when the year is put in review, some most memorable caches might be ones that didn’t make cache of the month or even nomination. Some of the cache of the month winners might not have been hunted by many of those that would come here and vote. I’ve got a fair amount of Wisconsin finds in but some of the winners I’ve never been to. Others with less finds would likely have visited even less. Plus, we’ve picked up a lot of new participants during the year. What do you think?

I haven’t heard from Artopsy for a long time so don’t know if he’s active yet or if you’ve messaged him for hints. If you wish some direction, you can email me and I’ll be happy to give you all the clues I can. You see, I’ve taken one person there and pointed to it and they couldn’t see it even then! But yes, any amount of snow could be a problem. My interest being renewed, I might swing by there tomorrow just to see if it is still findable.

Thanks for the acknowledgement! It came on the day before my first anniversary of geocaching. Thanks to all who have placed caches to find and to all the new friends that I have made on the trails, at the events and online. And thanks to WGA for the website and representation.

That has happened to me several times. The positive side of that is that I enjoy hunting more than hiding.

You’re not kidding, Ken! Bruce whipped though a bunch of my caches with great descriptions. Missing in Monches is not a quick and easy hunt to do. I feel good when I get to sneak a hunt or two in on an out of town business trip. I’m green with envy! Way to go Bruce!

I wonder when he finds time to manage projects?

Let’s see, one leather coat scratched up by thorns, two Garmin GPSR’s, one PDA, one Subaru, park fees, countless gallons of gasoline, Rubbermaid expense, Provachal to offset those Big Macs in order to get cache trinkets… The bill is in the mail!

I’ve been tempted to do some on mine. Even have a cache in consideration on a local bike path. The only problem is that anytime I go near my bicycle, my Siberian Husky believes it is time to pull me around the block. If I ever took it out without him along, it would be the dog house for me! The only way I can get out on two wheels without hurting his feelings is exchanging the puppy power for the horsepower.

Well this “Old Ham” is getting ready to change the QTH temporarily to Nashville. I’ve got a four day business meeting and have already loaded up the GPSR with the caches in the area. Now I need the time to check some out. I have to admit to not getting out as often as I’d like to. Lots of household and family things cutting into the cache time. I guess its called payback for many weekends and evenings spent caching and neglecting things around the house. Last Saturday, much of the day was spent on motorcycle related things. Took a test ride on a new 1800 Gold Wing. Hmmm, maybe time to put mine on the block. Brian?? Make me an offer.[ ]

Could you identify the two caches so I know what to search for on geocaching.com?

As far as I know, no GPSR can. It was in my list of wishes that I sent to Garmin. But for the next few years, I don’t want any manufacturer coming up with gotta have features, until I can afford another one.

Probably won’t influence anybody’s purchase now but I just got my Garmin V in the mail. Got the software loaded and went out to try to get lost. What a unit! Only complaint is the lack of memory. I can’t for the life of me figure out why they were so stingy on that. Bought it new on eBay. It’s the deluxe model with the whole country unlocked. Got it for about what the left over V’s are going for and I figure it cost me less than what I’ve got stuck in my eMap, which I am planning on keeping. It fits in the pocket so much nicer than the V.

I’m sure you must have read my motorcycling page on my website so I won’t go into my history. What I didn’t put in there is that several years ago I lost the engine on an airplane I was flying and just about killed myself. After a bit of a rehab, my orthopaedist asks me if I’m going to start flying again. I told him that I was going to do something safer, buy another motorcycle.
