I use a Garmin 60cs and my witf uses a garmin legend the blue one. i started out with a lawernace h2o but i did not like it because if i zoomed to location lets say about 50 feet it would start to bumble bee me all over the place as much as 300 feet from my location.
OK I think I/we might have found the problem. Jeremy was at the Geo 101 class in Waukesha and i did tell him that i had all of Wisconsin loaded into the unit using map source topo. he and I think that i might have been overloading the unit and have no memory and that is why my unit gets buggy after time and then i cant locate satellites. let me know if this has happened to anyone else. and if people agree that this might have been causing my problems. i fixed it today and the unit loads faster and my accuracy is even better now. well lets see if this fixes it or not.
sad thing is me and my wife just bought a pop up camper. Burlington RV lists it at $4000.00 but we are getting it for $1300.00. so we plan on using or government spending check on a trip to high cliff state park and i think that is the only trip we will be able to make this year with the camper.
Thanks for the help i will have to call on monday
where do you find the costomer care line and does it matter that it is about 2 years old and i dont have the recipt anymore ( dummy me).
okay folks i did the complete clear on my gps it worked great. and then all of a sudden boom cant locate anything and i had to loose all my waypoints again in order to locate satellites again what is up with this thing?? battery bars show full and i have a car power supply but it seems if i leave off for more than 2 days i have to reboot the whole thing in order to locate satellites again. i am starting to get irritated and i don’t know what to do. could it be possible that i have too much of mapping installed i have the whole state of Wisconsin loaded in from the mapping system from map source could this be the problem. any help would be great.
I work for a land developer in Brookfield and we are required to have platt surveys for everything we do from installing silt fence to building a house. the biggest problem we have is just like everyone else when we build a house right next to an exsisting house the home owner usually will come out yelling that we are on there property and that our platt is wrong and then we have to fight and yadda yadda yadda biggest problem is the usually are yelling at the survey crew and not us
I have been reading this thread and I find it very interesting to see everyones response. I am a Smoker (trying to quit) and a registered Boy Scout and I am also an Eagle Scout. I think it would be great if the WGA would sponsor a First Aid and CPR class for its members it has been years since I took the class and would like to get caught up and possible get certified. As for an AED i think we should talk to registered doctors that are apart of the WGA and get there opinion on if we really need one or not. But this is just my 2 Cents
I wouldn’t call this my favorite cache, but it will be the most memorable for me. It was the first cache that me and my wife have ever done. I remember sitting and watching fox 6 and heard about Geo caching and said hey that sounds like fun and it is something me and my wife can do together. So over the next few days we went to store after store looking at gps devices. After about a week I found the one I liked. We then went on line to start looking for our first cache. We found it Grandma’s Home Cooking. It was close and seemed like it was going to be a fun one for our first cache. Off we went gps in hand clues everything we thought we needed. following the little arrow I said hun we must be close I keep walking around in this circle. Start looking and low and behold my wife yells out (really loud) I found it!!!!!And there it was I think she scared some golfers that were near the location. It was like Christmas and we were 6 again. The look on my wife face was priceless I wish I had a camera at that exact time. Well that would be the most memorable for me. If I had time my most favorite would be the first WGA picnic me and wife attended.
Thanks again everyone for the help. My gps is working great now bad thing is I lost all my waypoints I guess now all I have to do is go back to all the locations I went too. 😆 can anyone say road trip!!!!!
Well thanks everyone for the help i just reset it and it is locating satellites. it is even locating them in my house which i did not do before well lets see if this fixes the problem. If not i will be back asking for more help.
