It happens that we enjoy puzzle caches, multi’s and micro’s the most as they not only take you to different areas but challenge your mind as well.
The rest of the “easy” or “drive by” caches we do primarily to visit new places, see new vista’s etc., but to us, they are not as satisfying.
IMHO, there is really no need for a “survey” on Puzzle caches, I guess we’re saying, if you don’t like them, skip them.
Pretty One and myself pride ourselves in placing “tough”, hard to find caches. SEEKERS REVENGE and I KNOW AN ARTESIAN, WELL are our two caches and the logs show that they were enjoyed by most all finders.
The bottom line, “do the caches you like to do, ignore the rest and quit complaining”.
That’s our $ .Ø2 worth.

😀 Thanks to the bunch with the great suggestions for cache sites. I have made notes and will communicate with my buddy tonight to see how much time he has.
Thanks again.

IMHO, ROADS & RECREATION is a really valuable, although older program.
I have R & R, fully installed on my computer, (per excellent coaching by a Garmin Tech), HAS MUCH BETTER MAPS in “rural” areas all over WI, BWCAW Area of MN than North America City Select, V 7.0. in Mapsource, I find I can go to any rural area in the Midwest and zoom down to .3 miles or less with N.A.C.S. V7, then click on R & R and even tho it is older, I find it has MUCH better maps. I am using a Garmin GpsMap_76C w/ 115 Mb of memory. I can load all of WI & northern MN with N.Y.C.S, all of the same areas with R & R, and even quite a bit of the older version of Topo East for the water areas I go to.
Again, IMHO, Roads & Recreation is an EXCELLENT PROGRAM and does not require any unlock codes.

We agree! My wife and I have been members for a bit over 2 years and enjoy Geocaching very much. However, for us it really is a “pastime” and something we do when we have time and opportunity. We’re not interested in numbers and we also don’t think any caches are “lame”. Yes, there are a few we haven’t and probably will not do, but it is for our reasons and of no business to others.
We also agree with some of the comments of Team Honeybunnies; if you don’t want to do a cache, don’t do it. That does not make it lame.
Pretty One and I joined this hobby for exercise, problem solving and visiting new and unusual places. I think, IMHO, far too many are taking a “pastime” and making it far too serious.
Life is short, eat dessert first!

Gee, I guess others are beginning to realize the reason that “LATERAL THINKING: made COTM……..!

PS: When you finish that one, go for “TRIANGLES AND TRIBULATIONS”, & BUY A $15.00 CALCULATOR……….
[Anyone interested in learning to go paperless in the Madison Area?]
***********************************Replaced my first comment with this one.
I’d be very interested in participating in “going paperless” training in the Madison area. Any day would be fine, or evenings as well. I’d be using a Palm E2, Garmin 76c along with Gsak & Cachemate on a Dell laptop.
Thanks for the offer, much appreciated.

“THE END”
Just my $.02 worth, but I generally place each and every cache I find on my watchlist, UNTIL someone else finds it. At that time, I know the cache was secure when found.
My wife and I feel it is more important “NOT TO BE THE LAST FINDER” of a cache than to be a first finder.
Works for me.

seekers8711 here. I believe this is my first post to the WI-Geo page since joining in 2004.
Regarding the topic of cache difficulties, multi caches and the like: I guess I have the opportunity and right to add my $.02 to the discussion.
Here is the opinion of a 1.5 year member team, for what it is worth.
1. My wife, Pretty One, and I especially enjoy the tough, difficult caches, ie, University Bay, Triangles & Tribulations, OneFish-TwoFish-RedFish-BlueFish, Goosey XXIII(?), Mr. Elvers cache, (haven’t tried yet), Blue Mounds O, (also haven’t tried yet)and many more similar caches over the simple, one shot, easy find stashes. We both enjoy the hard work necessary to locate a hide, solve a puzzle, or do what ever is necessary to solve the “find”.
Easy finds are good too, because this is a family activity. The sport needs both. My point being that each member should be “encouraged” (within the boundaries of good common sense)to do what “they” wish to do. People who don’t like multi’s, difficult or puzzle caches should do only the easy ones.
We have three caches out there. We feel all are well thought out, 2 out of 3 are difficult and the easy one takes some effort and good maps to solve. We compliment all who have solved our caches.
Too long, I know, but I just couldn’t quit.
