And then some…I think I will make it required reading for my kids….

Something needs to happen to that. Letters to the editor, a column in local or regional outdoors magazines, a news spot… That is about the most thought out expression of the value of geocaching whether you have kids in tow or not. Don’t forget that all of those experiences left their marks on their parents as well!

At the very least, it needs to finds it’s way into a “sticky” post on the top of a new forum of some sort with a title “What I learned today while geocaching”

Exceptional log and I guarantee I’ll be sharing it and re-reading it myself many times over.

Gotta love it when HTML bytes you in the ASCII!

No worries, the coin is in my possession and will be getting a nice polish job and mylar sleeve. I appreciate him trying, if only all geocachers were as thoughtful and responsible with the property of others as this guy was trying to be!

FYI: You might want to edit out the coin number from this thread just to keep things copacetic…

Cripes, another round with just a few in my neck of the woods that I haven’t found but a couple dozen of my own. Cripes it’s hard to compete locally when 90% of the lonelys within 15 miles are mine! What’s a puzzle placer to do but sit back and watch again…

And yes, I think Snyder Bear now hold the record for the highest monthly score. That in and of itself deserves a prize I think…

And no one else feels this way, apparently. Guess the Kid is too busy fretting over some of my new ones… So, it’s my fault, guys, that the new list is not yet ( a week into the new period) out.

Be careful. Two-person kayaks are also known as divorce boats.
(Not that I would know anything about that.)

My wife and I tried rowing a canoe once…….ONCE. I’m hoping for better cooperation this time out with the kayak….I tried the new kayak with each of the kids and it seems like the kayak is way easier to paddle with another person than a canoe is…..ya know come to think of it my wife and I don’t get along very well on the tandem bike either, while I don’t seem to have any trouble with the kids……

Well, I too am in the market, although I’ve already tested and survived the water with wife and kids in both singles and doubles. Right now we are looking for a couple doubles so the whole family can go out and not have to worry about how far the oldest strays. Ask him about a certain adventure when he got to far ahead, forced out by a snag in the water and then waded ashore into what must have been the biggest nettle patch I’ve ever had the displeasure of walking through to rescue him. Those screams could be heard for miles. I think he still has nightmares about that one…

WOW, that’s a record! the 500 point barrier has been broken! That’s some serious caching, now let me ask you, how is your CITCO card statement looking for the month?

in reply to: Ipod touch 2nd gen and Geocaching #1907875

I’ve never been exposed to GSAK since I’m entirely Mac with no cross-over program that will work on my G5, so maybe I’ve been missing out. But then I’m not a hard core cacher either.

I’ve been using my iPhone 3G standalone for caching since last fall and up until recently was pretty darn happy with it. Again, maybe I’ve been handicapped this whole time and don’t know how good some of you have it, but it’s worked for me.

Lately though, the accuracy has gone all sour. It used to be pretty spot on, when I had a signal mind you, and put me right on top of caches. The last time I was out there were instances of being 50-75 feet off. Not sure if it was a fluke, operator input error, or translation issue from one program to the next, but it was pretty frustrating.

I suppose I should get myself a cheap back-up unit so I can at the very least, Navigate to the cache!
