I am not sure how many pictures we will be taking. I hope the cameras work being that cold. The son with a broken foot is making me a lot less enthusiastic about this trip. But when the children saw the news report about the ice caves they were the ones who said they wanted to see this. Therefore they have been holding us to it, but who knows we might just try and see what we can do.

Though we did have minor issues like another broken bone with a child’s foot. This week we worked out the final details, hotel room, etc. The closest hotel availability currently is 2 hours away. All supplies accounted for from snow shoes to a portable back pack blind and a propane heater with an extra bottle of fuel. If all goes good we will be on the ice about 7am on Saturday morning.

Ha ha, I’m glad I started this thread if for no other reason than to pull hotdogs and The Lil’ Otter out of hiding! 😉
I agree…with the quoted as well as the opinions from the select. I left the group caching because I enjoy the satisfaction of completing a task alone or with a safety spotter.
Some of the fb groups post spoilers or heads up notifications of caches.
this is my opinion as I see it.

No points given to it….I wonder if that has anything to do with the dong lyrics.

Living out away from all the “cache dense” areas, here is my list:

We were hoping you would move it to June like the last one at Governor Dodge. Can’t make it to the earlier May date.
Ditto Mr. G…. another campout we are going to have to miss.
not sure how you are figuring out what the coin number is? If it is the tb reference number, mine ends with ftf.
I received my geocoin in the mail. I am happy to say it is a good series if you have not seen some of these locations in Milwaukee yet.
We found all 15 of the series. Therefore I have now visited spots of Milwaukee now that I have not been to before, touched stuff I didn’t think was possible in downtown Milwaukee, and had a lot of Friday night excitement. Thank you visit Milwaukee for the fun series.
We started geocaching to see more of the locations close to us that we didnt know about. As we kept expanding our knowledge of locations we have seen many different changes occur for various reasons. Living on the edge of Southern Kettle Moraine we have known about a few of the locations but geocaching introduced us to many more.
As the kids entered school and needed their after school naps park and grabs definately were the way to go as the kids napped our numbers grew. Now that the kids are at the stages where they have this energy to burn here we are enjoying longer trails and scenic locations. Earlier in their childhood wagons worked their way through different trails but now our walks are quiet and the kids enjoy the wildlife encounters. From bucks crossing our path just feet from us, to the pileated woodpeckers.
Keeping our kids enrolled in so many after school programs its relaxing to take a walk with them and enjoy what nature has to offer. Both our kids are in the “gifted and talented” programs and have been excelling in learning, I thank the opportunities geocaching helps teach them and ourselves. From earth caches to traditions, they give you a different perspective learning experience. Puzzle caches are the key to learning how to solve problems that go from a cipher to think what I am thinking.
The best part we will always enjoy are the scenic locations that provide us with pictures we can look back at to see their growth and enjoy the smiles that each location has provided for us.

I’ve never been caching before, but it sounds like it could be fun to try with my girlfriend. Are there ones that anybody would recommend?
how about checking out the WGA caches of the month… I am sure you can find one in there close to home.

It’s spring caching photo contest, not just the campout this time. There was snow like that somewhere in the state this spring… I think.
AHHHH thanks… I didnt realize it was a spring contest… I thought it was just a 2012 campout.
are there more rules to this contest? I was just browsing the gallery and looks like we have pictures from winter to butterflies. I dont remember snow during the 2012 geocampout and how can we be sure those butterflies were seen in Governor Dodge? How do we know these photos were taken at the 2012 geocampout? I do recall friday night it did get a little chilly at night but I dont remember waking up to craphas.
Congrats…. I heard the news of this from my mom first. Family news travels faster than the internet.
