do not forget about the Racine County trail. Its usually pretty clear of debril and a nice level trail.
we did 1 event and 4 other cache, and some cache maintenance for the 10/10/10. Thanks Team DeeJay, that final was out of place but back to where it should be.
We have attempted to take the car gpsr (Nuvi) out in pedestrian mode, and that seems to be the furthest off. Averaging about 15-30 feet off. The further off the street the more inaccurate it seemed to work. We do not use that for marking coordinates because of its inaccuracy. On the other hand it seems as if we can tell when someone else marked a cache using a Colorado which is the Garmin mode GPS we use. Has anyone else done the testing to see how accurate their car (Nuvi) worked in comparison to a “more expensive” hand held like a Colorado?
I did email the co about the cache to clear up why we posted what we did. but if we were too harsh and others took our log trying to express negativity we apologize.
As a FTF I difused another one. I took the containers of bug spray as preventitive maintenance. GC2EPZD.
Inaccurately places nanos are the worst no matter what the camoflage is. If you know you are not placing them accurately, then expect dnfs.
1 cache that is always found on the LCG could be a great example for this event in this area. Rebus & Tutt-Head, GCVBVB. This cache holds puzzles, traditionals, and even a virtual point. The only downfall to the cache is the length, and the time it takes to complete. But maybe beginning the cache with beginners, they might have the incentive to finish and complete it. Has there been a “starting point” or a location for the instruction to begin determined yet? Ottaawa? Scupernong? or the southern DNR office?
