WOW I had to recap which events we have attended.
2010 Geocampout
2011 Cachers and Cattails
2011 Bonfire and Chili Feed
2012 10th Annual Pig Roast
2012 Campout
2012 LCG Event
2014 LCG event
We probably would have attended the WGA CITOs, but we have usually hosted our own close to home annually.

Though I can hand you over to others that like to bribe with beer or other things. There may be some sarcasm behind this post as well. But on the serious note, I feel no reason to bribe anyone.
3 of my best qualities…
Honesty, I am always honest with people and expect them to be honest with me.
Confidence, being confident in what you do becomes contagious. When people are confident in what they do they portray a positive attitude.
Decisive, making decisions in a timely matter helps give more time to accomplish a task even if modifications need to be made.
I have a toss up between Vampire Empire and Out of Site. These two caches were very well thought out. They weren’t just a park and grab but a cache that made you think, hike, and explore. Both caches were different experiences. Vampire Empire was a family trip (my wife, the kids, and myself) ventured the downtown Chicago to some this fun experience. Out of Site was a cache that put blisters on your feet, and a puzzle at every weigh point. I headed out with a group of top notch puzzle solvers and we all finished the cache as a team. Everyone became part of that fun adventure.
Pinewood Derby tomorrow!
My first step if things don’t go the way I want them to is evaluate. Evaluating why may help me change how the resolution came about, maybe the resolution will change the way I was looking at an issue or agenda. Realizing we all have other issues and problems and adding to another one doesn’t help, so venting can sometimes help but only in a positive way. Vent after mediating.
As I do not have access currently to suggestions, I cant truthfully answer what I plan on changing. Maybe bringing the COTM back into one category making it harder to win the COTM. I use to enjoy driving and searching out the caches in other areas because they won.
This really is a great question, I work in the engineering world and failure does happen. Sometimes expected, sometimes not. But in the end failure is a learning tool and what not to do, or what needs to change. I have done various tests for parts or designs I have created just to make them fail. Failure is a learning tool.
I have also worked for another organization where we held a fundraiser. Advertising never went out like it was suppose to, the organization ended up losing a large amount of money. In the end, communication and organization would have prevented this from failing. But again, I learned during the experience.
I forgot, what number FTPs are we at?

Penalties. Lets just say for example we don’t follow the rules hiding a cache. For instance, placing illegal swag inside, using the cache location be showcase a business, etc…If proof (picture) is proven and sent to a publisher, a 1 year ban on letting that geocacher hide caches. Oh I know it sounds so out there, but that may help us eliminate people drilling into trees, staking into trees, digging, ruining the environment, passing out beer and or knives to kids. Yes I know that would create more sock puppet accounts, but locking into IP addresses, and even turning the hiding cache privilege over to the premium members will help generate more income for GC.com. Turning off for the free members.
For a while we attended as many as the WGA events we could. Most of the time our vacations are usually planned before the WGA set the locations and it just seemed the last few years that made it difficult to make them. As the communication to location of each event is given with advance notice we are happy to find a camping location near and attend. All but 1 event is in question for us. That would be the Spring campout. Unfortunately, baseball season began practice at the beginning of the month, playoffs end in July. That is the only commitment besides working that could be in the way.
Volunteering is sort of why we are running for the board. Therefore, hosting and helping out at events is nothing new to me. My children tend to enjoy helping out more so than searching for some of the caches. Giving back is definitely something we have been doing for a while now.
01/23/2017 at 2:35 pm in reply to: Candidate Question: What are your experiences working in a team? #2053333If you would have asked me this question a few years ago, I may have answered, my way is always the right way. But now, as I have been a head coach for various baseball teams and a den leader I have learned the leadership of the whole groups opinion leads to a better a result more people are happy and usually there becomes more involvement with the group. Granted its regular that opinions are going to vary but in the end we are as a WGA board member following the same set of rules and should make decisions to better the organization. Placing caches that follow the rules, events, and giving the advice to keep geocaching a community a community favorite instead of becoming a thorn in the side of other agencies.
