What if the WGA was to offer financial assistance to its members for events of their own creation, creating a geo tour, or hiding of quality caches, just name a few.  Of course the members applying would have to meet certain criteria.

I’ll go with BigJim on this one, web design is also not in my realm of experience.  From this geocacher’s point of view I use the site to work on the WGA geoart caches but stalled once I got to the history of WGA, I find it sometimes hard to navigate locating the information I need on some of the mysteries. The history is interesting, I’ll agree on that.     I also like to read the home page, but find its not updated enough on current  happenings..I have brought a few people to the site that had no idea the WGA existed, so that’s a plus.  Recently I  made contact with an organization that manages land~hidden gems that are available to the public but are not well known. I inquired about hiding caches obviously, and  geocaching was something they never considered using to attract visitors till I opened my mouth. I’ll share more on this once I know more. But I got their attention,  this will be discussed in their meeting on the management of the lands and they now know the WGA exists and we are nature/outdoor lovers just as they are.  So where I’m going with this is getting the attention of  other organizations that also share the love of the great outdoors by maybe being involved in or co-creating events with them, CITO’s for an example..  perhaps like Friends of such and such state park and so on…  adopt a highway… the list goes on. 🙂 Maybe this is something that has been looked into already? I’m just a newbie remember. 🙂

Being a newbie, I have a basic idea of the tools that will be available to me. What I can do with them remains to be seen. Perhaps I’ll be able to woo members in with my words? One thing I have noticed is the lack of participation in the elections. Maybe we could work on a “behind the scenes” look at the life of a BOD, a journal perhaps, to give the members an better idea of what its like to serve on the board….

I’m Running “to give back” to all the geocaches I have found, I recently temporarily lost my job of the last 24 years, it gave me time to, well, Hike, Geocache and reflect. What else you going to do when you wake up one morning and the place you put all your talent in is a pile of bent steel and ash? Well after the shock wore off, knowing we’re rebuilding, gave me  much time with my thoughts and what I wanted to do in my spare time outside of 40 hr grind. Volunteering! I always wanted to do that.. but where? the monk garden? maybe.. the Ice age trail? I do enjoy that…friends of rib mt? I enjoy walking the trails there.. But! Geocaching?  I get the biggest thrill hunting the geocache. (you know that feeling) Following  Wga.com, (working on the wga geo art mystery) and  on F/B I saw the elections were near, needing 5 but only having 4 running. I watched and I watched. No one was stepping forward. Is that spot meant for me? My intuition said YES.
