Added WV on Saturday. Didn’t get a chance to add OH or IN as schedules were too full. Oh well, next time.

Woo hoo! Isn’t there some kind of merit badge for this accomplishment?

keep on caching y’all.
Here in Crossville, TN (vacation, next week is Williamsburg, VA) I’m hearing “y’all” a lot. Just a reminder that the plural is “all y’all”. See ya soon…

Listing of those who have submitted data on number of states and countries cached in:
Skarolek – 6 (WI,CA,FL,VA,IL,WA)
SKarolek / Cardinal Cachers added TN today. Had a chance to sneak in a micro while wife, son and daughter were doing some crafty stuff at the resort. Have identifed several other targets in the area. Have two TBs to stop here to log miles before dropping them off in Williamsburg next week. Plan to add WV and maybe OH on the way home…

Darn. I guess that’ll teach me to move quicker on caches that catch my eye. Thanks, Steve.

And then the dorky question — if one is to stay at a campground for 2 night (and not in the area for a portion of one day), does one leave the tent up and hope no one steals your sleeping bag (yes, I’m a worrier…)?
Bec,
I’ve camped hundreds of weekends in various settings – scout camps, state parks, national forests, private campgrounds, county parks, even a city park on the Elroy Sparta bike trail – and I have left my tent with belongings in it for some portion of every weekend.
I have *NEVER* had anything disturbed much less stolen. I’m sure there will be a first time but my experience is that everyone leaves other peoples’ stuff alone while camping.
I hope you have the same luck!

What else do I do?
Well, there’s work of course…
I sing tenor in the choir at church (St. Anthony on the Lake in Pewaukee) and also cantor…
I’m a den leader for my son’s Webelos den (Pack 294 in Hartland)
I’m a “cheer dad” for my daughter’s varsity cheeerleading team at Arrowhead
I spend way too much time online, particularly at eBay… 😉
Woodworking, bicycling, camping, hiking, motorcycling, the list goes on… too many activities – too few hours in life!

Judging by what I heard on the park radio Wednesday night…when I heard her come over the park radio frequency…I figured she must be at Minooka.
Frequency? You meant “talk group”, right? Or do some of the Waukesha parks use radios not on WCTRS? One thing I’ve wondered about it sounds like not only is there no obvious distinction of where someone talking on the parks TG is, there is no obvious distinction of individual! (Multiple units use the same unit number). There’s got to be a better way…

Hey Steve, next time read the thread first, OK?

Although that idea sounds fun!

Bec,
My first 45 finds have been using a Garmin etrex vista. I got a good deal on ebay. I want to give this one to my brother for his birthday so I can justify buying a new 60CS for myself… I’ve been shopping for those on ebay too. I’ve lost track of how many things I’ve bought there. I shop online a lot and often wind up on ebay or amazon.
The etrex vista accepts 500 waypoints (although I’ve used software that doesn’t care to download 1000 waypoints into it) and can hold a rich set of maps from Garmin’s MapSource products.
The 60CS can handle more waypoints, more maps, has a bigger screen in no less and does routing. Of course it costs more too 😉
Have fun selecting your new toy!
