dipped those mice in milk chocolate as I like a milder tasting mouse. Now I would definantly use dark chocolate for a rat.

I use a Dillion RL550B progressive press for loading and a Hornady Lock & Load quick change single stage press for brass prep.
I bought a lot of primers back when Bill & Hillary were in power so I have a good supply of primers. They are available again after being almost unavailable anywhere for the last 2 years. In Appleton Sheels is probably the best place for components and Gander Mountain (they are pricey).
http://www.bluepress.com is a good website for reloading equipment from Dillion
just an inch here in Portage and it has stopped snowing for the moment. Cancelled an Appleton trip as the coming wind has us worried. Made 40 chocolate mice instead.
we have used ours to mark a restaurant we pass while on a long caching day. At the end of the run we can find our way back. Also interesting rural stores we find in Amish country.
We were having problems with timeouts while connected to the WGA site using a Wild Blue Sat. connection. Two computers one was WinXP and the other was WIN7. Didn’t matter which browser we used. Now all of the problems have disappeared. We had the problem for most of November but now all is fine. Somewhere a server or router got rebooted and we might never find out what caused the problem.
Thanks everyone for all the congrats.
It has taken us almost 5 years to hit 3K, maybe we can pick up the pace a little bit and do 4K by the end of 2011. We aren’t just out for the numbers but it is nice to hit a milestone of 3K. Our problem is we easily get distracted like spending an entire day just to drive WRR 51 but that is how we cache and we enjoy a good challenge. This year we have done several such as Zuma’s Waterfall Challenge, Jay’s WRR series and several of Geolivestrong WSQ Challenges. We are also thinking about a Texas trip sometime in the spring. I hope everyone has a great winter when there are no bugs and the geotrails are easy to follow. John & GailI thought I was the only one. Have tried IE, Firefox, Mozilla on both desktop and laptop. Will try it with a reload. Really miss the forums. I can usually get one forum to open and one subject and then it locks up.
Gotta Run said it very well. There have many times we have cringed at the placement of a cache to close to a grave when there was a perfectly good spot on the edge. We have questioned the placement in a couple of caches logs. We have wished for some general rules for hiders since some people just don’t seem to have a sense of basic cemetery manners. We really enjoy a unique cemetery visit to see something historic or thought provoking.
Sloughfoot will buy the suction mount and the beanbag mount. We will be at the WGA picnic this weekend.
Anyone looking at the logs on some of the challenges will notice that Team Sloughfoot loves a challenge. They give us a reason to travel to areas of the state that we wouldn’t go to otherwise and in the process we usually discover what nice areas they are. We sort them out and do the ones that we find interesting or doable and pass on the rest. Our current personal challenge is to buy a tank of gas a day and we are doing a pretty good job of meeting that challenge 😆
WooHoo Marc. Glad to see one of our favorite cachers still going strong and setting records. You were one of the first cachers we met when we started caching and we knew then that this was a group of people we would like to be associated with. Keep counting them up.
Congrats to Sandlanders from Team Sloughfoot. On to the next 1000 now!
Congrats on becoming a tonner Mike, keep on going!
07/26/2010 at 1:56 pm in reply to: Sloughfoot completes th Wisconsin Falling Waters Challenge #1933422Thanks folks for all the comments. We underwent a technology warp when we retired and are using a dialup connection so we don’t get to check the forums as often as we ought to. There is a satellite connection in our future though.
We love a good challenge and a reason to go for a ride. I guess that is why we like geocaching so much. We had some memorable waterfall hunts and pushed ourselves a little harder then if we weren’t doing the challenge. We probably did the waterfalls at the perfect time as the rain has kept them pumping at max this year. Of course the foliage is at max also, and the bugs and the ripe berries.
I guess my favorite because it took the most time and involved a one mile cross country hike would have to be “Lost Falls GCNMJF” The terrain rating is probably a little low but it is worth every ache and bug bite just to see that spot.
The final had some chalenges also but I don’t want to give anything away there. Thanks Zuma for putting together the challenge.
John & GailIf there would have been a trailcam watching it would have provided entertainment for the owner but would have probably still been rated “PG” because of the underwear.
Luckily these were NOT deer ticks. They must be immature wood ticks as they are about 1/2 a normal wood tick size. Another thing that amazed us was how fast they could move. It would take a couple of grabs to catch them.
