Sloughfoot is going to try to make it, sounds like a good time. I have already done the Old Building Site so might be able to help dig that one out.
Mrs Sloughfoot says I can’t say nothing bad about her wimping out so I won’t. Heh Heh Heh She is always so much fun to watch in deep snow.
Congrats GIZ
We cut our geocaching teeth on your dead end caches and have enjoyed many of your hides along the way. I will never forget the first time we found a chain link fence with a loose cap and who could forget the fish experiment. Hope you have a great new year.
John & GailAs Team Sloughfoot has been a team for 43 years we can only say everything is better as a team. Congratulations from us. We always tell newlyweds to find a way to play together just like they were kids again. Thats what keeps you going. You two already have a game to play so you are steps ahead.
Congrats on the double milestone Mike. As one who has finished the DeLorme Challenge we know it is a great milestone.
Congrats on the big 1K Blue35Jeans
It seems like a long time since we have seen you on the trail. I remember when we drove through Pardeeville and found a crowd gathered around our “Ragged Old Flag” cache which turned out to be missing and you were part of the crowd.
Keep on caching and we will meet again someday.
We get back from deer hunting and find that Dave has been working his way up the trail. It always makes us feel special when someone uses one of our caches for a milestone just as the milestone does for the finder. Thanks for the visit Dave and on toward 3K.
John & GailThere is a lot of info on this. I saw it on the national forums and the Washington State forums. There is a link on the national forums. The cache was immediatly archieved and local cachers are being very sensitive to the cachers family in the tragedy and the cacher that hid the cache. As cache owners we can’t imagine how this would affect us in the sport. A true wake-up call.

The secret to making velcro stick to wood is to staple it to the wood. A good long staple will hold the velcro strip tight.
Mrs Sloughfoot
Congrats on the milestone Sandlanders and thanks for all of your hides.
Way to go geolivestrong and thanks for the hides!
Team Sloughfoot is named after the Big Slough near Briggsville. This is where our cottage is located. We seem to always have a foot in or on the Slough. The team part comes from 42 years of doing most everything together.
Team Sloughfoot just completed the Rusk County Geocaching Challenge 2009. We left Appleton on Sunday morning and did some caching on the way to Rusk county. As we were traveling through Catawba we passed a pickup with a huge bear on the tail gate. Turned around and followed him to the weigh station. That bear was 430# and was shot on the edge of town near a cemetery. Yikes!!
The challenge was a blast and we spent all day Monday running around the county, grabbing caches, eating dust on all the back roads in the county, and dodging bear hunters, trucks of dogs and dogs. Also stopped to watch one bear run across the road. Saw turkeys, deer, a porcupine, eagles, loons and beautiful fall colors.
If you are heading to the big picnic at Lake Wissota, spend another day and do Rusk County.Team Sloughfoot just completed the Rusk County Geocaching Challenge 2009.
