After a cold weather hiatus, the wings are getting nibbled and the basketballs are getting dribbled. Good to see the king and queen of Whinnytown back at the game. Cache on!Thanks refelo. It was a long and COLD winter for YT and the Blondie Bloodhound.
Last weekend we found FOUR caches which were for 2014:
The most in a day. The most in a month. And the most all YEAR!
Yikes!
But we had the MOST fun. 😀
Snomocaching was brutal this winter.

Excellent report. Thank you for taking the time to share. We have been running about the same set-up with the S3 c:geo and GSAK. Getting use to it now pretty much. For extra juice for long days in the field we use a Brunton power source to provide a boost when needed.
Works like the Swiss. Appreciate the tech info and the mapping information with link. Thanks much!SGH & BB
PM sent.

WTG on 1400 that is on our “to find” list. Sounds like a fun one to do.

My mind is spinning! Only a code junkie could put together a double milestone in such an organized fashion. Congrats on both, Ed!
Ditto here and KUDOS! 2K WTG Ed
Kinda of knew this one was in the works from previous logs and conversation so it is so nice to see it all come together for you our geo-friend. Your Washington state caching trip another classic. You are among our top ten favorite loggers! 😀 Always a good read and adventure(s) that are shared are the best!
Ripping good yarns they are!

4,000 Kudos! Awesome!

Got ’em.
We had previously done a much longer streak last year and weren’t expecting to cache for a month straight anymore, but this 31 day thing gave us the extra incentive to go for a month straight. Compared to our previous streak this one was pretty manageable, and fun too! For us it was a marriage enhancer that made us go outside and play and have quality time together. We kind of don’t care about the devalued souvenirs, but then again we kind of do! The bottom line is we had fun doing something we both like to do.
DITTO here for SGH & BB. And we had fun along the way. Got us outside during the “dog days of summer” and onto our geo-bikes a lot more. Not that we ever needed an ‘excuse’ to go geocaching before but it was a positive experience.
After some 3700 plus finds we actually were able to sharpen our teamwork, search skills and cache locating abilities. We even got a FTF along the way. We once did a longer streak previously (on accident) so this one was just more about having fun. A good time was had by all. Glad we tried it and did it.

Our first hide did not happen until October 2007.
We wanted to get some finds (and experience) in and to figure out the whole process of geocaching.
GC142XB WSQ B-17 Navigator in the Granite Orchard is still active with over a dozen favorite points.
It is a tribute puzzle cache that took quite a bit of research to do and it was honored as a WGA COTM cache for February 2008.
For YT and the BB it was a very positive experience that far exceeded our expectations of being a cache owner.
Still remember during EAA a few years ago when the B-17 “Aluminum Overcast” flew right overhead of the navigator and dipped a wing. Awesome moment.

Got the moon and stars today, but then I got to thinking that we should have done a night cache to match the souvenir. Ammo can for the first day, do a cache on a bike trail for tomorrow… Could make things more interesting…
Yup.
Like that outlook sandlanders. 😀
We did a cache yesterday on a bike trail to get the bike souvenir.Caching is caching. Still fun either way. 😀
It is not like we would stop caching to avoid a souvenir or bother with a work around to avoid them. There is more to that.
Caching is fun and we get out-of-doors. No need for a hiatus.
SGH & BB 😀
For our team it would be Utah #2, followed by Nevada, then Wyoming with Florida being a close 5th.
(And we didn’t mind getting a souvenir either.)
😀 😀
Interesting question to ponder.
SGH & BB
Or another poll question could have been:
“Would you find a cache just to get a particular souvenir?”
Like the bike token (7th) or the fish (27th) look like fun ones.
Who knows?
Heck even a palm tree with the airplane (2nd) might be interesting to ‘collect’.
Don’t see a big need for doing 31 days of consecutive
caching for the sake of it all.Been there, done that. Ditto.
Now, if the folks in Seattle gave out a free one-year premium membership for those doing the streak that might be a different story.
Or maybe a $$$ voucher like that MLB team in Beer Towne………… 😆 😆 Now there is irritation!
Ca$h on!
Kudos!
On a wonderful 3K Milestone!SGH & BB

05/03/2013 at 6:15 pm in reply to: Wi Fi Connectivity for Smart Phone and Caching Application #1970115Thanks for the feedback. Here’s some more info.
I do accept the ‘terms of conditions’ for the public (unsecured) WiFi and yes I can do the browser stuff (like the news, wiki, sports) but the actual
Android application does not run….the c:geo application is a ‘no go’ as is the ‘official’ Geocaching dot com application on the unsecured WiFi.Both apps will run just fine on the phone data 3G system as well as on my home secured WiFi or work secured WiFi.
