Thanks much to the responses.
According to Garmin Tech Support the iQue 3600 is not compliant with the NT version CN 2009.
May have to investigate a replacement for the iQue 3600 at some point in time that has all the same features and benefits like Palm Desk Top. GPS, auto-routing, etc.
Any suggestions?

City Navigator (street maps) – if you buy the DVD version you load CN into Map Source and then upload it if you buy the City Navigator NT version.
OK……..this is where I am at (I think) it is my understanding that:
I could purchase the DVD version of the recently released City Navigator North America 2009 NT version for my GPSMAP 60Cx and it is
Compatible with the understanding that I have a 1GB card or so in the particular Garmin.OK.
Now, what I don’t see is that same software (NT version 2009) would work (with additional License) on my other Garmin the iQue 3600 ??
So, am I in the trick bag here or what with iQue 3600 and the 60Cx ???
With regards to which sotware to buy / load / use. And, I don’t see that the non NT version of City Navigator 2009 is yet to be released………
thanks in advance

Like the price on the mini-SD cards.
Great to see the price of something has dropped!Question here……

The software version of CN is licensed to only one unit. You have to buy a second license for two GPSrs.
What is the CN that you reference here?
(My mapping software is the Garmin MapSource.)Thanks in advance.

Here’s hoping Lisa survives the hot sun on her southern swing across several states and notches that 800 soon. Last I heard the count was at about 777 and climbing. Good luck on the milestone, and stay out of those Louisiana bayous so you can make it safely back to Wisconsin!
Boom, there goes the State of Georgia and at last count number 786.
Lisa, had her security guardalong for her find at GCHD4X while outside the razor-wire. Keep in mind she is a Lioness! 😆 (club member) 😆Excellent forum question. 😆
Our geocaching started when the Blondie Bloodhound (thanks BB) gave me for Christmas (awhile back) a Garmin iQue 3600. I had just planned on using it for my own lost prevention and as a Palm OS / Desktop calendar thing. That was kinda cool. 8) All the Map Source stuff and that etc etc. Then, I went to the Garmin web-site 💡 and saw the link to geocache dot com. The rest was history…………. ❗
Now, back to the question at hand. We use a Garmin eTrex in the field. Put in on a Ram mount for the bikes (motor-less-motion) snowmobiles (snomocaching) and the boat (aqua-caching) so that works out.
But now because the Blondie Bloodhound has been out doing some noon time (lunch-o-caching) with the Curly Girls who just loves her Garmin 60Cx so now The Blondie Bloodhound thinks we should get one too!!! 😆 😆 😆
And, with that new unit comes a larger display which will be great for my declining eye-site (read old age) so I got that going for me.
So, I have been happy with the Garmin folks and their GPSr units.
😆 Snow, is excellent for tracking for those FTF’s!! And, a good way to save on those batteries. Don’t put those snowshoes away just yet!!
Now, I have heard that some weather models are looking at 70 plus weather for next week. 😀 With that will be lots of MUD!
So, you gotta love being able to cache in so many different weather elements.
➡
I’ll be wishing for cold and snow when we are out in Nevada and Utah this summer caching. HOT and more HOT! 8) 8)CONGRATULATIONS!!!
What a fantastic achievement! And, to think as of today 🙄 😆 you are at 118 Earthcaches!!!
When we travel we like to check to see the caches you have found in the other states!
Kudos Anne from SGH and The Blondie Bloodhound! 😀
😀
Mr & Mrs TE a question for you:
Don’t you ever stay home? 😆 😆Kudos to you (and ET too!) for your fantastic milestone and all the great adventures that took place to reach 2800. 🙄 WoW!!
Congrats from SGH and The Blondie Bloodhound

Hey, SGH, I actually tried to unearth our kids’ metal detector to aid in finding “winter friendly” ones, LOL. If I’d have found where it was stored, I’d have used it!
T&B
Now that you write that…..I may have heard one of the Timberlines Echoes mention that at the Easter Hunt event up in Boulder Junction. But, I think if I had one of those things the Blondie Bloodhound might not want to go caching with me anymore! 😳
Any way, it probably wouldn’t work too well on tupperware and plastic containers…..but now I’m thinking 💡 about a ground penetrating radar (or is it sonar) to help out. Hmmmm….maybe for my birthday ❓
FTF’s are fun, enjoyable to get but, they are HARD WORK and sometimes you have to do crazy things to get them!!! Which makes them all the more special and memorable. (see our post Red Riding Hood helps the Blondie Bloodhound to 600)
It is very competitive out there (so we found out) and yes Sagasu-son is a well oiled MACHINE when it comes to FTF’s. Again, he is a MACHINE!
However, if it wasn’t for Dave we would still be at zero for FTF’s. He has helped us to improve our FTF skills and abilities in so many ways (Thanks again Dave) And, Ry and Ny remember that Sagasu can not be the FTF on his own caches so that is a huge plus!
We found out that we had to cache differently and to think outside the box for the FTF. That, and invest in flashlights, have a caching GO bag set at all times and have a full tank of gas. Did I say be a little nocturnal also?
We only have a couple of FTF’s but I remember them all. How many times do you get to stumble around after midnight in thick fog trying to find a WSQ to get the BINGO? (Yes, it was very cold 😳 and creepy)
Or, to have bow hunters ask if your stand is going to be where you are bush whacking like an elephant to find a micro in the treeline on the WIOUWASH bike trail??
Speaking of which as of this post there is a cache out there waiting for a FTF, by Sagasu called Sagasu Sinister Semantic Search that will be someone’s FTF! 🙂 😀
Good caching!

KUDOS to your efforts, and thanks for your entertaining post. Again, it highlights how CRAZY chasing the Lonely Caches can be, and some of our most memorable caches that came this winter in February have been the elusive Lonely Caches. Thanks for sharing your list of memories. 😆
Our winter cache numbers went up also due in part to some LCG activities along with Snomocaching and The Great Northwoods Treasure hunt in March, which was very enjoyable and relaxing. We really got to hone our winter caching skills and I’m sure all that we learned will help us once warmer weather arrives.
But, for now we have put away our snowshoes, entrenching shovel, wooden probes, winter survival gear and kit and I have dismissed the idea of buying a metal detector to find those supposed Winter Friendly caches!!
Yes.
While we have less than a dozen caches it is on each one of them.
The reason, when I started out building cache pages, that was the first HTML graphic I incorporated as I really didn’t have any other graphics to use. (I also understand the importance of supporting WGA and providing a Link on your cache listing.)
I was so happy to see the WGA logo work, that I was encourage to explore other things. I recall my joy when I figured out how to put text in bold and from there learned about Photo Bucket, etc.
The result was WSQ B-17 Navigator in the Granite Orchard. our first cache. That however took quite a bit of work to do, and to set up the page, and all the waypoints. So it was a good learning tool.
So, once you figure out how to add the WGA logo that pretty much opens the door for the other stuff.
😀 Kudos -cheeto- and thanks for your caches too! 😆 😆 😆 😆 you gotta love these smiley faces!! 😆 😆
As usual RSplash40 is ahead of us…but we’d like to offer our congrats to Marc for his 5,000 finds. That is outstanding! Thanks for all the WSQ’s that got us ‘hooked’ – SGH and the BB
Congrats! What a fantastic number to reach in one year! SAGASU Dave and Dan you guys are awesome. Plus – not to mention all the FTF’s too.
Keep on caching in the free world and TFTC’s and your support.
