Excellent Job you guy’s – Congratulations! Quite a milestone indeed. And, always love to read about your adventures at the caches you visit. Can 3K and the IA DeLorme be far off? 😮
I noted they had to put down a 300# black bear near Baldwin yesterday morning. Evidently it got hit by a car on I-94 and was banged up pretty good. May have been the same one that skirted through our front yard last summer – eeek! 😯
Whew – thanks all! I do have Brother Snoopy to thank for getting our family into this geocaching ‘thing’. It’s been great fun for me, Mrs. Spike, and the kids (Joe Cactus and Tumbleweed). Have discovered some amazing places and met truly incredible people everywhere we go. It’s been a blast.
And, thanks to everyone for all the great hides – without them, I’d have to do yard work (or, continue to shovel snow!). 😯
I agree, this was a great event and well-planned by the Club! Spent time with the kids picking up trash all over town while hunting down some of the caches – had a great time, and Mrs. Spike was wishing she had joined us. If this event comes back next year, we’ll definitely be there.
Well done! And, those coins are awesome too……..thanks.
This sounds great – thanks again for all the work on this series! Your Hammond’s Old Hotel on the Yellowstone Trail cache was the very first cache we visited (with brother Snoopy007) and got us started out right with this caching thing. Look forward to seeking out a few more. 🙂
From what we can tell, the intro class at the Hot Air Affair and the caches placed as part of the Affair were a solid success. DB did a great job in talking to the folks in attendance while Joe Cactus and I tried to get the WiFi working. (Well – it seems it was shut off for the weekend!) We answered alot of questions afterwards and hopefully got some people fired up about geocaching.
We’ll be picking up the ammo cans this week and replacing most of them with permanent caches as DB mentions. The HHAA owns the containers, so we’ll store them till next year and use them to put out a series of hides for the event – always the first weekend in February.
Thanks much to everyone who went out and grabbed some caches and hopefully some fun along the way (good luck in the drawing!). We should know what sort of participation we had after the forms are in – probably sometime next week.
Congratulations Brett – well done indeed! 😮 Glad you had a chance to get to Western WI for a few of those. Bet you and your Unit are pretty tired. 😯
Here’s to 3K!
A hearty Congratulations to Mathman and his well-named cohorts. A great milestone indeed!! Hitting a grand is fun and a good time to reflect back on all the fun over that time and the great caches along the way.
We certainly enjoyed your Bluegill Bay series and look forward to seeking more of yours when we’re visiting Sparky and Snoopy. Would love to meet up with you sometime and do some caching.
Well done!! 😀
A hearty congratulations Brother Snoopy! Mathman is right – I’m keeping one eye on you and one paw on the GPSr. 😉 My guess is that Woodstock actually made the find – she’s pretty good at that.
Grandma would be proud of your loop-de-looping skills. Hope you did the Hokey Pokey when you found it. 😀
Well done young man!!
Well done Honeybunny team – Congratulations!! That’s quite a milestone, and I suspect you and zuma! will be racing to 6K by the end of the year. 😉
Congratulations!!! A great milestone for a great cacher. In addition to all those you’ve found, you’ve really placed some wonderful caches that I (and the family) have really enjoyed. Thanks for what you do for geocaching, and well done!
Well Done Mathman (and team)!! Be careful with those 900-numbers……they can be expensive! 😉 I suspect you’ll be hitting that 1 Grand mark in the not too distant future.
And, thanks for the caches you have out. I have a number of yours I really want to go after when I’m back on the home turf – perhaps I can drag Snoopy and Sparky along too.
CONGRATS!
It’s really been a fun year – whew! My family and I have really enjoyed exploring some really wonderful areas, especially in Western and Central WI. From the Bjornson caches and old cemeteries by mama kat, to the YST and Chippwea River Trail series by zuma!, the always creative (and tough to find!) caches by Da Bloodhound, the fun wildlife areas (and interesting terrain) of those placed by Bobcat, the HBZ and Miles series by WI_Robin, the fun areas located by Snoopy and Sparky, and all those in-between, they have been great and memorable. Thanks so much for providing the fun – it’s appreciated! There have also been alot of fun caches just across the border in MN as well, and I’ve had a great time checking those out and exploring that area.
Thanks to Brother Snoopy for introducing us to this great form of exploration, fun, exercise, and family time. Hopefully I’ll be able to get out a few more hides soon.
It’s been great meeting up with many of you during the past year – I hope to connect with more down the trail!! 😀
Congratulations zuma! What a great milestone. I recall being at Bjornson during the event which you scored #3000 – that next grand sure didn’t take too long – wow! Well done indeed. We tip a glass in your honor.
Our family has certainly enjoyed your Yellowstone Trail caches and the Chippewa River caches – just excellent. Thanks for all you do for geocaching. On to 5K!
Wow – thanks much to you all for the kind words! I have Brother Snoopy007 to blame for all this. He took us caching for the first time, and while the first afternoon was just dandy, the next day was out in a thunderstorm (as we stood on the top of a huge hill in River Falls – yikes!). My entire family has really enjoyed geocaching and we’ve loved exploring all the fun new place, fun caches, and the great people involved. Geocachers are top-notch folks.
Now that winter is over (ha!) perhaps more time out on the trails. Thanks to all of you that make this so much fun. And a special thanks to Snoopy.
