Try finding lower D/T caches by this cache owner. It will give you an idea how the CO likes to hide their caches.

Thank you for the notification. The state bowling tournament is in Milwaukee this year. I will have to find another reason to get to Madison to pick up some caches.

Only if you don’t have NFL Network on your tv. That’s what radio is for, LOL
Unless you live in Milwaukee. I got to watch the game on Fox 6.

I agree. I would not want a “new” geocacher or anyone else to mistaken those items by gravesites as a containers.

Welcome to the fun. Let me know if you ever come to Waukesha. Please come to the WGA Picnic and meet more cachers from the state.

in reply to: Night Caching #1963434

I have not done any yet but most of the night time caches near Waukesha are in parks which close at 10pm. I have been given the advice of more experienced cachers is to do them anytime then the summer so you are not pushed for time. Summer sunset is usually around 8:30pm. I plan to do some night caching in September or October.

I talked with the Garmin rep at the West Bend Cache Bash. I asked him what the Montana does that my Dakota 20 does not. It is bigger and so is the screen. The one thing he did I say that put the Montana on my wish list is you can used it both as a handheld GPS and a vechile GPS. Of course you have to buy the appropriate accessories.

    Hi Sarah,
Welcome to the fun err addiction. I was in you position in early February. You should have come out to the cache bash in West Bend this weekend. There were reps from both Garmin on Megellan. If there is an REI near you I think they let you try them out and I know they have FREE classes on picking a GPS. I ended up choosing a Garmin Dakota 20. Money was a bit tight so I could not get the “fancy” models at the time. It has worked very well for me. If you meet other cachers asked to try theirs out if you can.
Hope to see you on the trail or the next Cache Bash (Aug 9-10,
