I am working on placing my first few caches as well in Waukesha county. I looked at other caches in smiliar areas (same park) and contacted the person listed on those caches. For example: Dopp Street Cache #2 (GC1D1J6). You may also have to educate the people. Good luck.

To see the distance just tap the screen when the map is up. You may have to tap it more than once depending on where you left off.
All you can give me.
When I purchased my Garmin Dakota, it came with a DVD titlw TOPO U.S. 100K. It does allow me to load more detailed maps on the GPS. I am still learning a lot about the GPS device.

Welcome back. Maybe you can help me. I am new to geocaching. I am in Waukesha, too.
I just downloaded GSAK because I was having trouble with Google earth to load the cache info on to my GPS. GSAK loaded fast and quick. So I was not doing one at a time. I am still fairly new at this but I love it. I see there is an up coming event in the Appleton area to learn GSAK. I am unable to attend. THose who are new at this and can make I strongly suggest you go and then come teach me more. lol

I am new at this too. I am already addicted. I am in the Waukesha area. You never know when you will meet a fellow geocacher.

Thank you also to Lostby7.
Thank you Team Deejay. After getting a chance to use it and finding out it has been discontinue and of course it will limit my geocaching ability I plan to return ASAP. It did work for a cache but it did not have a EarthCache that was close by in the memory.
