Are you having a tough time figuring out the distance to the cache, or just curious about lat/long distances?

If you just need to figure out how far the cache is, try playing around with your GPS to have the distances show on your screen. My eTrex has that option as do (I think) many other brands. This way I have the compass with a big arrow, lat/long, and distance in miles (feet when I get closer)

But like sbukosky said, error is a factor so use your “geo-bloodhound sense” to get right to the spot.

    One other thing of note:

    B. and I already have some radios as noted above, you have to remember in order to use them, you need to hve them with you!

We got separated on a trail the other day, and we were looking for eachother for a good 15 minutes! If only we had remembered to put them in our pack

p.s. If they are in your pack, divie them out BEFORE you separate!

    Just a little advice from:

As far as I know, most radios are pretty simmilar. Maybe someone else can point out a name brand, we got a few Bell Souths on clearance.

Only bit of advice I can give is try to find one with the same batteries as your GPSr.

Well I’d like to say I was doing something grand and noble. Something like airlifting food to starving children in a third world country, but I would probably be sitting on the couch flipping through channels wanting to find something good but expecting not to find anything at all. B. would be trying to get me to do the dishes or mow the grass, and I would say “Let’s go for a walk.”

I would be thinking of canoeing, but no… it’s too cold/hot/rainy/too much work.
I would be thinking of camping, but no… I gotta work/I’m too tired from work…

There would have been a lot of things I would have liked to do before geocaching, but until geocaching came into my life (wipe tears from my face) I was a sad and lost soul.

I have to agree with some of the other posts. I didn’t get to go to the campout but maybe next year…

I voted for a cache I really enjoyed, and I hope others will devote some attention to in the future. I’m sure the campout was a great time but I can’t seem to get my time machine to work quite right in order to go to campout 2004.

Don’t feel too bad. We also can’t seem to leave WI.

    A big fat *1*
