Way to Go Bill and Vickie that is a huge Milestone, loved seeing all the pictures you posted on Face book.
We are bringing some nesco’s, Barry picked them up today from our Firehouse.
Not sure if we do Todd, I will have to ask Barry.
I love puppies, just in my opinion, they are so cute.
Hi The Little Otter, It is nice to see you here in the forums and having a interest in Geocaching still.
To answer your question, I would like to show that Geocaching is not just for the physically fit. I am handicapped and most always use a walker but have bad days where I am confined to a wheelchair. Geocaching is just not a sport for the athletic type of people. To me that a cache does not have to be a rating of 5/5 to be a memorable cache. It is all about where a cache brings you and the scenic area and the nature that surrounds you. My favorite type of caches are waterfall caches, fire tower caches and The official Spirit Quest caches/cemetery caches.
I would like to be remembered by showing that handicapped people can enjoy the sport of Geocaching, and and still be able to get out in the community. Did I ever mention that I love Geocaching!Hi Walkingadventure, I have to say that my cache count does not go very high in the winter months. It is not that I like this, It is just hard for me to get out in the deep snow. The caches that I have done are easy and not far off the beaten path in the winter months.
Hi Beccaday, I like this question. Being that I cannot do long treks in the woods. The type of day if I were to bring along geocachers for a fun filled day of event would maybe be a walk or a bike ride on a bike trail, since most of them are not to far off the trail. It would be a great day of exercise, along with great story to be shared and a day full of fun shared with geocaching friends. Making some new and old friends along the way. This is what the Geocaching community/family is all about.
Hi Team Black-Cat, You sure have some very good questions for us members who are running for the board. I would be willing to fill any position where the other peers on the board already would like me. I am a easy person to get along with, I am not afraid to most always give my input and ideas on things that are brought up. Bring new deas to the board when they rise. You never know if it is a good idea unless you say something. If I am elected I look forward to see what new comes our way in the new Year.
Hi Team Black-Cat, whenever I am out Geocaching I always have this in my mind and I do this by doing garbage collection when I see trash laying around. If I know that I am going to damage a area knowing I have to use my walker to get to a cache there is been times I will stay back while I let my husband bring the cache to me. I always like the saying leave no footprints while caching!. I like to make sure that I leave a area I geocache at in better shape then I find it. I would promote this by telling all of my geocaching friends to do this all well it helps our environment. I answered this question to the best of my abilities.
Hi Team Black-Cat, I would like to see cache of the month be in a way that is is just not a popularity vote. There is alot of awesome caches out there that are placed and since there may not be alot of cacher’s in a rural area, they seem to most always go unnoticed. I wanted to answer this question and took me a long time what to write. Hope that I answered your question.
Hi sandlanders, I have in the past have just mainly volunteered my time at checked in, helping geocachers getting signed up for a log attend at a event and worked in the store selling T-shirts, Pathtags and Geocoins and other miscellaneous item to help raise money for WGA. I also just like going around talking and meeting/making new Friends and seeing old friends too. It is always a pleasure to catch up with those that you do not get to see to often unless happening to see them at a event.
I still would like to be responsible that I attend every WGA event to be a good advocate and show my support for WGA/The Geocaching Community.
Hi Team Black-Cat, Maybe alot of people just lost the interest in Geocaching. Another idea that hits close is the price of gas. The price is always going up and many people cannot afford to keep up with the sport. Being on the board would not stop me from keeping people from not going Geocaching. Like for me living in such a rural area, to travel to find caches is a long haul it is not like I live n a big city where there are tons of caches available or alot of bike trails to ride.
Most of my caches have it on there. Because it is free publicity for the WGA.
Plan on being there if I am elected to join the WGA board as well, since Barry will be there anyways for the meeting.
