Looks like only adding a inch or two today, but there is about 10 on the ground up here, with a very hard crust on top of it from all the rain lately.

Just over 2 days left, so who is coming for sure, and who is on the fence? Weather for Saturday is 17 deg and light snow possible.

I was surprised to see, what I thought, was a low voter turn-out (117 members).

Maybe in the future an email should be sent out to all the members so there are more members that vote.

There are many more members in the WGA than the vote shows, but sending a email to all members is not an option. Wording in the SPAM act does not allow us to send mass mailings unless the member has allowed us to send email to them. This is why we moved to using Mail Chimp for our newsletters instead of trying to manage the list ourselves.

Thanks to all who spent the time running this year, and I will also agree with Renee, It took a couple of times running to make it on the board, For those who did not make it this year, stay active. Work at a event, it is the easiest way to meet members and for them to meet you.

    Time:
With some folks contemplating four hour drives let’s say-

Val and I usually plan our Door county trips a weekend or two before Memorial Day or a weekend or two after.

Alot less of the flatlanders there. This year we received a Segway tour for Christmas, so will have to make the trip sometime during the summer

I would assume that Math2k is found on the way in or out, but is found along the way. its about a 1.5 hour walk each way

in reply to: Trek to Eagle Source #1967965

Well Wayne, since you are the farthest away, depending on your route, its about 4.5 hrs from Albany to Hiles taking 39/51

its 6 hrs if you go thru milwaukee and up 43

I would like to start the hike about 10 am 11 at the latest.

thinking it will take about 3 hrs round trip.

    Anyone have any time constraints?

    in reply to: Hide #1967939

Closest urban environment to our house is 75 miles away (Green Bay) we did have a hide there a few years ago in a park, was a regular size container, It takes some time and scouting to find the right spot.

in reply to: What kind of ideas to you have? #1967934

I guess you are looking to reinvent the wheel, but with the WGA facebook page, twitter, and our website there is not really much more that can be done to get the word out.

Last year, Val and I attended many events in different parts of the state, and try to promote the WGA. Besides traveling to more events and meeting more people face to face what else could we do.

    in reply to: It’s a commitment #1967920

Over the last 2 years, we have made and worked all of the campouts, picnics, Spring Highway CITO, Winter events, and WB Pancake Breakfasts. This year we will attend the LCG. We have not made any of the Regional CITO’s but if they are in our area we would go. as for the fall Highway Cleanup, it conflicts with one of my annual Fire Trainings . Over the next two years, we plan on attending all the events and working at them.
