We have seen these used as containers.
If it is still under warrranty, send it to garmin, even if it is not under warranty, I would still send it to them. They will check the unit over for other things that might also need fixin.

Selling pathtag and Geocoins to help mom pay on many of her bills that have been accumulating since her diagnoses of cervical cancer in October 2010 and her diagnosis of breast cancer in April of 2011.
Many of these that are listed on ebay are very very beautiful pathtags. People that have purchased them can tell you just how pretty they really are in hand. The pictures don’t do justice.

Thanks Pete for posting a volunteer job list, I was working on making one then I see you posted it, hopefully we can get enough volunteers so we can rotate out volunteers
