http://blog.geocaching.com/2010/11/geocaching-com-souvenirs/Congrats on the milestone, glad to see that this cache is winter friendly as we will be searching for it soon,
I would like to thank all that voted for me, and also thank all who ran this year, for those who did not make it, don’t give up stay active in the WGA and put your name in the hat again next year.
We received the magazine all last year, very happy with it and signed up again this year. Love reading it.
Would like to thank all who placed bids/won auctions on our pathtags we sold for Val’s Mom. With a separate donation that was also sent, We will be giving her over $360 to help towards medical bills. Her mom made it out of surgery well, but will be in the hospital until the weekend. Thanks again to all who helped out.

After reading all the above answers, I would also have to say that all 4 votes do not need to be cast, if you think that only 2 are deserving of the position, then only vote for the 2 that you think are worthy. Just placing a vote for the sake of “having” a unused one is not right. My votes are cast already, and some of the answers here confirmed that the way I voted was right.
Low tech way……. Grab Camera, take picture of computer screen, post picture….. Im sure there is a much better and easier way though,
Traveling thru Oconto after the recent snow, happened to drive past Bartrod’s house, and saw that he got a fancy new snowplow, thought I would post a pic of it for all to see.

I just hope the Etrade baby commercials are funny, hate football in general, so could care less who wins. Ill Tevo the game, fast forward thru all the football parts, watch the commercials, and a little Black Eyed Peas during the halftime.
Instead of starting another thread, I will say my thank you’s here, I would also like to thank those who nominated me, and those that asked the questions for us to answer. Hope to see you on the trail or at an event, Happy Caching

Not having yet attended a WGA camp out or picnic, I cannot critique the timing or scheduling of the membership meetings at these events.
As for more participation, Door prizes could be a good draw, Scheduling it earlier in the day, but taking away daylight hours from number hounds might not be the best idea either.
If the group picture is a big draw, then a quick and smooth transition from the picture right to the meeting might help,
Again, not yet attending either of the events, I’m shooting blind here with ideas
I have 3 questions for all the candidates, and then I will provide my own response. First, do you agree that our gradual move towards well functioning empowered committees is a good idea, or would you prefer a move back towards central control by just the 9 board members?
I think that the committees are a good idea, the more people working towards a common goal, the better chance of it getting done, and more heads = more ideas.
second, what contributions did you make in the last year by participating on our committees?
About October of last year I was added to the geocoin/pathtag committee when I had the idea to design these:

For those of you that do not know, It is a “tag back” each time a person chooses to put this on the back of a pathtag (it costs .10 for each tag) that money is donated to the WGA. A reoccurring fundraiser that costs the WGA nothing to participate in.third, whether you are successful or not in winning election this time around, do you plan on being a part of any of our empowered committees in the coming year?
If I could I would like to stay on the Coin/Pathtag committee next time around
I would have to agree with Northwoods Tom, The Northwoods would be my pet project, I think that Geocachers in Our neck of the woods feel left out of the WGA because all of the events happen in the southern part of the state, I understand that the majority of the membership lives in that area, but is it fair for us in the North to have to travel the 3-4-5 hours every time to attend events? It should go both ways, If a bigger event would happen in the North, I would hope that new possible members would show up at the bigger event. Granted we do not have a cache every .1 up here, but there are still some very cache dense areas to hold events to draw up the southern number hounds. I have some ideas in mind, but will wait to see if I end up elected to bring them to light.
We usually plan our weekend travels around events, and would plan on attending both the picnic and campout, we have started attending more events around Wisconsin in the last couple of years, and plan on attending more in the future, Usually our travels are at the drop of the hat, and some if not most of the time we do not make reservations at campgrounds until the last minute, but will be making reservations near both of these events soon.
