a few years ago I downloaded some from lake-link.com, but now it is a pay site. 🙁
LIPSTICK IN SCHOOL
According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington was recently faced with a unique problem…
A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick, they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints.
Every night the maintenance man would remove them, and the next day the girls would put them back.
Finally the principal decided that something had to be done.
She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night (you can just imagine the yawns from the little princesses).
To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required.
He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it.
Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.
There are teachers … and then there are educators.
How will you respond when someone has an opinion that is the polar opposite of yours?
Good question Brian,
If elected to the BOD, as a board member, I would listen to all Ideas and opinions that different members have, even if they were the opposite of mine, every idea or opinion has merit, and needs to be listened to, and if worthwhile brought back to the entire board.
And…
Your opinion might go against the official opinion or decision of the BOD. How would you react in that situation?
Again, if elected, personal opinions would have to be put aside and would have to uphold the WGA opinions and decisions
*** What part(s) of Wisconsin (general or specific) have you cached in that you would like to return to for more caching or just to visit?
We try to each spring make a trip to door county, would like to get to the West Central and South Western part again
*** What part(s) of Wisconsin (general or specific) have you not yet cached in but would like to someday?
Having completed the Delorme Challenge and the county challenge, we have technically cached the entire state, but we have many counties and pages with only one find, Might have to start the Delorme part 2 and visit some of the areas again.
I bought me one of them all-terrain 4 wheeler thingys !!!
Why, ?? you ask.
Cuz Danger is my middle name!!!Nothing like challenging Nature to give you areal adrenaline Rush!!!

We have not yet had our own event, but have worked on the staff of MWGB for the last 3 years. Have seen the inner workings of a Mega event and have worked in different aspects at the event each year.
For non geocaching related each year on Memorial Day Weekend Fire Department holds its annual Corn Roast, this event takes about a month of planning, and We pull it off each year with the members, wives, and community volunteers. Our corn roast is our only fundraiser of the year, and we raise an average of $15,000 in a single day.
Congrats on the FTF and the 5 years anniversary
I would check this site http://www.otterbox.com/ they make boxes for tons of electronics
You’re out on the trail talking with a Wisconsin geocacher who has never heard about the Wisconsin Geocaching Association.
You explain the group to them and they stare at you like you’re crazy and ask you, “Why should I join?” or perhaps, “What’s in it for me?” and maybe, “I just go caching every once and a while, I don’t need to join anything”
Candidates, How do you respond?
It took us a while to join the WGA or even say Hi to another Geocacher, we avoided events and thought that geocaching should be a secret sport.
I would explain to them that I felt the same way when we started geocaching, but in the end being able to talk about the sport to others that understand it makes it more enjoyable, and explain all that the WGA does to further the sport in Wisconsin. (working with different park departments, the DNR, etc).
Why are you a WGA member?
I enjoy meeting others at events that I have talked to here in the forums, there is a great info base of knowledge here. and if I do not have time to go geocaching, I do like to be able to read others adventures when they get posted here.
Jay,
Received a message to join the WGA Facebook page, just a few days ago did a search and found the second one listed here, which one is the “official” one, and should the other be shut down if it is not associated with the WGA?

Now that the COTM has been reworked, I think it is more useful tool and should be kept. Granted it could still be a popularity contest, but with the new regulations it is a great part of the WGA.
I have not played a whole lot with the favorites on GC yet but think that the 1:10 ratio is way too high. So far we have only put a favorite on about 1:200
My wife and I have not yet attended a CITO, but would if one happened close to us.
I would continue to support the funding and creating more of these type of events. in the future.
With the younger crowd I was going to say that we should start a Facebook page, but apparent that has all ready happened, but no one is really active on it. Events and etc. posted there could increase our presence, The upgrades to our site might help a bit, but like Zuma said every one who caches, does not necessarily wan to join a group of people with the same interest.
do you think this was a positive change or a negative one? And why?
I think moving towards permanent caches was a positive direction for the WGA, In my opinion, if it does not have a GC# it is not a cache, even if it is a great hide, good container, etc.
Do you miss the WGA event temps? Even a little?
Not ever attending a WGA event yet, Still can say that I would not want them back. I have found a few at other events and they turned me off from them, they were good hides, but the placements used, would not have passed a reviewer to be published. Is this what you would want a new cacher to find? (actually have found buried caches, caches way to close to each other, and even a step of a multi that could have been considered destruction of property. Val and I usually find the 😀 in the area (usually before or after the event) and use event time to chat and catch up with others. Events in my opinion are more for the comradeship than the numbersIf it were to come up for BOD vote again, would you want to continue to place permanent caches for the events or go back to temporary caches? Or perhaps place no caches at all?
my vote would be for permanents or none at all
