Over the last 6 years that we have been geocaching, the game has changed quite a bit, locationless, virtuals and webcams, have become Waymarks. (Still to this day have not figured out that site myself) and GC as a whole seams to be shifting towards a simple container hidden somewhere. The WGA has evolved quite a bit since then, Working with the state park systems to be able to place caches on DNR Land, The Cache of the Month Awards now by Geographical areas, and Just the upgrades to the Site itself.
In the future, now that the WGA has divided the state into 5 geographical area for the COTM, I would like to see a WGA sponsored event at least once a year in each of the areas. I do understand that logistically that this can be quite a distance for some to travel, but a board member should try to attend each of these events also. Willingness to travel should also be part of being a BOD. GC.com is only getting bigger and better, and we are on keeping pace with them.
[/url]Congrats Ralph on the 14K we hope to reach that some day
congrats on the 7000
We find many that say that they are 1 star terrain, that usually are not, we know how difficult it is with Val being in a chair part time, but we do make it to many that are higher. very inspirational video
Congrats to you two how long to 4K?
I also see little value in this except to pad some otherwise all ready big egos
I would say anything under a 1 mile round trip if you are in the northwoods, City Caching I would say it would be shorter, like in view of the parking area. LOL
The smileys were the mark of Bartrod, made with food coloring, safe for the environment, but im sure that they will make some people look when on the walking trail.
Congrats Brian on the 24K, seems like it was a weekend for milestones
Thanks all, It was a great time on Saturday getting the milestone, and having a guy that is all smiles along to share it with
Special Forces cover all traces of where they have been, tracks were covered over, but there might be traces of a yellow smiley in the snow
