Congrats on the new addition to the family. Will we be seeing little smiley’s next to the regular ones now?

This is not our normal hide, This one is definitely one to save for a milestone but don’t wait till winter.
Congrats to 5 digits getting to the 5 digit Marc
I don’t even like the packers, but that is funny
I say replace them all with the 50 cal boxes they usually have a tighter seal.
The wheel has already been invented, why try to recreate it?
with only 2 people running the site, how long before it starts having problems?
Think back, its great that its free now, but GC.com started out as a free listing service, once this gets too big for them, and need new equipment or bandwith, I bet there will be a fee too
there are already navicache and terracaching why do we need another listing service?
just my .02 on this, pony up and pay the $30 bucks for a premium membership at GC.com. I will not be cross listing any of my caches
Grandfathered Cache Types
This is from GC.com
Grandfathered Cache Types
These are cache types that are no longer available for creation on geocaching.com. Visit the Waymarking web site for other GPS hunting activities.
Virtual Cache – Large Icon Virtual Cache – Small Icon
Virtual CacheA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache “hider,” a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.
Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.
Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
Webcam Cache – Large Icon Webcam Cache – Small Icon
Webcam CacheThese are caches that use existing web cameras placed by individuals or agencies that monitor various areas like parks or road conditions. The idea is to get yourself in front of the camera to log your visit. The challenging part, however, it that you need to call a friend to look up the web site that displays the camera shot. You will need to have them to save the picture to log the cache. If you’re a tech-head you could use your wireless modem and save the image yourself on your laptop.
Webcam caches are now in the Web Camera category on Waymarking.com.
ary enough to warrant logging a visit.Val and I are not in Geocaching for the numbers, and that was the main reason that we have not attended this event in the past, as a last minute decision we decided to cut our vacation short in Indiana and head to West Bend. We were amazed on how well run and how nice the event ended up to be, and will be back next year for sure. Most of the caches we found together, which slows us down compared to other teams but if at all possible we try to cache together. for those of you that don’t know Val is partially wheelchair bound. Short hikes and P&G are ok, but longer hikes require the chair. Starting late on Saturday 9:30 – 10:00 we still found 27 for the event, (with the help of LDove and pharmgirl pointing out the more accessible caches) Kudos on the great event. On Sunday we took a walk around downtown area and found another 12 or so caches that were for the most part all accessible (This was a great added plus for us to end the event)
For next year,
1) Possibly list in the booklet which caches are accessible or separate them like the water caches were.
2) GROUP PHOTO!!! Just before or after the prize drawings
3) More vendors (I will contact Geocoin Club / Pathtags.com owners and put in a good note for this event)
4) Lackey Attendance (For the size of the event, it is surprising that they were not here)
5) Reading the other posts about the money raffle tickets, when we received ours the Chamber volunteer separated them for us and dropped the second half into the bin for us, (Idea for next year keep the $ raffle bin in the registration Kiosk and have the Volunteers deposit them as you register)
6) Dedicated TB Drop off/ Pick up trading area 1 for 1 honor system
7) Travel Bug Discovery Area (Signal would have loved to have been there)
8) NAME TAGS (Sticker Type for those who did not have the WGA laminated ones or their own)

We load ours off of a macro from GSAK
Bring your bike if you have one, it will make the trip around the island easier. They also have them on the island for rent. last time I checked it was an extra $8 bucks to bring your bike with you. or hourly rental on the island.
This was one of our favorite series of caches, it took us 3 trips to Mar/Meno to finish and agree it is a great series.
Have the 550 with the Beta version, and have no problems as of yet, except it locks up once and a while when I hook it to the Car power cord.

Changing our Caching plans after MWGB and are going to try to make it to West Bend on the way home
So might be able to get our shirts after all
Any chance that they will be for sale on the site here or only at events?
