Would like to see a list of cache posting guidelines for each County, parks Dept. ,City, Town. listed where it can be easily found on the website.

And I know this is a pipe dream, but it would be nice to have all the geocachers in the state be one big happy family

        1. What if GC.com crashed and all the logs disappeared, what would you reaction & action be and WHY??

We have a back-up of all of our logs, and also have about 1000 unfound caches in our GSAK that we could go and look for.

        2. Hot topic….Though it is a choice here in WI, to log temp finds in one cache…What if GC.com was set up to not accept more than one find/attendance per cache log…what would your reaction & action be on the matter and why??

This would be the best feature that GC could implement. and if it happened I would be dancing in the streets.

        3. A repeat question of sorts from last yr….What if you had $5000 of WGA funds, to do what you like …what would you do with it????

One person should never have the authority to spend that amount of money, so would have to confer with the rest of the board on how to spend it wisely.

what extent you will be able to volunteer your time to make this proposal a reality?

As long as it does not interfere with my full time job any time is not a problem

what extent are you willing to help put together a proposal that can be accepted by the DNR at a future time?

revising what is currently written to make it work for both parties should not be a big problem, the current board has done most of the work allready

This is a hard question, but if I only had one vote, I would have to vote for the candidate that seams like their views are most like mine. After reading the forum posts and candidate question answers. The person who I would have to vote for would be….

I only have a couple more on my to do list, then my area will be complete

Thinking about some other ideas, but they will be very unlike our normal hides, going to be a T 3-4 with some lengthy hikes (one is over a mile)

                    Great Question,

                    Besides building houses full time,

I volunteer 3 nights a week (12 hour shifts) as a EMT/Driver for the Mountain Ambulance Service.

Also Currently Asst. Engineer on Riverview Volunteer Fire Dept. That’s a 24/7 whenever I’m in the area (Even when at work).

Planning on in spring Helping with Habitat for Humanity (there are a couple of sites they are working on in our area.

I think maybe we should think about taking care of our own first

I actually sent a email to Fox 11 about this subject Last week.

I just think its a joke that someone will send $$$ to a foreign country, and not help a starving neighbor, or their local food pantry, and don’t forget about our 4 legged friends at your local shelter.

Keep the money local, screw the other countries.

                      this is just my opinion

                        1. What got you into caching and how long have you been doing it?

A friend from the ambulance service that I volunteer for told me about the idea in September of 2004. We thought it sounded kind of “geeky” but went out anyway, we actually DNF’ed our first two tries at it but found the third one and got hooked.

                        2. What area of the state are you from?

I live and work in the Mountain, WI area its in Northern Oconto County about a hour north of Green Bay.

                        3. How much of the state have you geocached in that is away from your home area? ?? of 72 counties

My wife and I have traveled to all parts of the state to finish the Delorme Challenge and the County Challenge. We frequently take cache trips to different parts of the state.

                        4. how far from home are you willing to travel for events and how far in the past have you traveled to go to an event?

If elected I will travel to any of the far reaches of the state to attend events.

                        5. Are you members of any other geocaching association: Michigan’s MiGO, Minnesota Geocachers, GONIL, etc.

Active member of MiGO, and a member of Minnesota Geocachers

To me its easy one GC# = One 😀

Oops… wrong question….. One person = One ticket.

There should also be only one drawing not separate drawings for different events. (ie door prizes, temp caches)

No one should be penalized/rewarded for searching for temps/permanent hides or for participating or not participating in other stuff, like turkey shoot, sack race, etc.

Easy Answer is One person = one ticket

GC21WE7 3rd Annual Not so SUPER SUNDAY Pizza & Cachin’ on Jan 31

                            GC22P6H Names & Faces, Part V on Feb 6

A Caching Boat tour, that would be different, are there other caches in the Bay that are assessable by Boat? Depending on the size of the Boats, Chambers Island and Horseshoe Island could be possible.

I only own a canoe and am not crazy enough to take it on the bay so Ill have to park my butt in Bartrods ride.

#1- Would you attend this event?

I would be there with bells on ( not literally of course )

#2a- How would you help promote this event and educate local cachers non-geocachers of the WGA?

Maybe contacting local chamber of commerce or even the local news channels to get it put on their calendar of events.

#2b- The idea of placing a few small news paper ads in a few of the local papers was brought up to help promote this event. Should the WGA help pay for the ads?

Having worked at a newspaper for over 5 years, Instead of a “AD” which you would have to pay for, send in a “press release” to be published as a news article. This might not work in a paper like the Journal Sentinel, but small weekly papers thrive on this kind of news to report. After the event, send some pictures to the same newspapers and another “press release” about the event turn out and happenings.

#3 Should WGA equipment (such as grills and such) be made available for this event?

According to the bylaws these are available (at the cost of the event host to transport) I am just assuming that this equipment is in Southern WI (at the cost of gas today $2.72 you could buy a new grill for the gas money that you would spend going to get them and return them.

#4 Do you believe that a WGA regional event(camp-out/picnic) should be held at least once a year north of highway 64?

Maybe not once a year, but there is now 4 events, they could rotate between the geographic areas lets say 46°, 45°, 44°, 43°

How about doing a lottery like the Olympics or Geocoin Fest.

The people who would like to help host the event in their area pitch why they want the event there, and let the BOD or Body decide where it should be.

Making it a event would draw more help and get it done quicker. everyone gets a smiley for it.

I’m sure if we went and hid temp caches on both sides of the road .1 miles apart for the whole 2 miles and picked them up along the way everyone could get at least 20 temps too.

BTW i’m just kidding about the temps, but It just struck me as humorous at the moment.
