Going from Beloit at approx 42° 29 to the tip of bayfield county (not counting the apostle islands at 46° 57
The center of the state would be around 44° 43
Looking at the posted coordinates from the above post
Lake Wissota N 44° 57.609
High Cliff N 44° 09.899
Wausau CITO N 44° 57.157
West Bend N 43° 26.005
I guess the Current board can pat themselves on the back as they were 50/50 with the events
5 to 6 hours is a long ride, but I would be more than glad to attend a event anywhere in the NORTHERN part of WI somewhere in the 45° or 46° range
and BTW ashland is a 5 hour ride even from NE Wisconsin where I live.

Personally, I do not have the time or interest in responding to every post by that type of person.
Zuma,
If you have a problem with a certain person (Me), you could have easily quieted me down if the year timeframe was posted earlier.
Sorry that I might seem that I like to argue, but usually I’m just stating facts and waiting for answers. (sometimes not so patiently)
and just stating a fact here usually the one who toots there horn the loudest about all the work they done is the one who did the least
Not that I am not a caring person, but I myself will not be sending a dime to Haiti. I think its funny that people will send money to organizations with the hope that it is doing good somewhere. But would not send the same amount to a local food pantry, or help a neighbor in need.
Its time for the US to start helping itself, Let some of the other UN countries do there part.
When Katrina happened you did not see other countries coming to help us.
I only donate to local organizations ONLY nothing national, Our local church has a pantry, there is a thrift shop in Wabeno, and instead of the national humane society, I give to our local shelter in Oconto.
Even though they say the quadrant idea for events has been put in place, would like to make sure that a event happens somewhere north of 64 or even highway 8
When we tried it we parked at the end of Bayshore Drive at the end of lineville road. There is a hiking trail there (its a SNA or a Grouse MGMT area or something like that. There was a very junky house with dogs there, but they did not bother us. Walked down the hiking trail about a quarter mile before it turned towards the bay. was on the ice about 3.5 hours total, but came up empty on both caches it was about this time of the year if I remember right.
Other states have this rule also, and I have seen a ammo box that had the side cut out and a piece of lexan siliconed and pop riveted to the side, seems like a lot of work, but it makes the ammo can be able to be seen into and still water tight.
I think the WGA should have a news release ready to go that can have some fill in the blank areas to send to the newspapers in the area of the problem cache. Kind of like damage control. It could explain geocaching what it is and have a link to our site and GC.com
All in all the list of things looks good that happened last year, the updating of the logo took a bit and the supposed updating of the website never happened. but I won’t say much more about that. Its a sore subject with many here.
A 2010 Coin could be a good idea, and Ideas from the membership is a great idea,
Another Idea would be a pathtag, Other organizations sell them in packs of 10 for raising money, We usually buy them and drop them in caches here and there.
Another teardrop owner, Woohoo, we have a home built one that took me a whole winter to build. Didn’t know there was a teardrop club in WI I’ll have to get some more info. As with my wifes disability, its getting too hard for her to get in and out of it, and have been looking to get rid of it.

Back in 93-94 there was a black panther in the Neopit,WI area in Menominee Reservation. Was a logger back then and Saw the tracks in the mud, my cutter saw the cat. Story was it was a pet that got too big and they released it in the wild.
How many of those 4 events did you attend?[/b]
We have not yet attended an event sponsored by the WGA yet. Mainly because of my views on temporary caches.
At any one of those events, were you able to volunteer to make the event a success? Feel to elaborate and describe your efforts to make WGA events a success last year.
We have not yet attended a WGA event, so did not volunteer. We did both volunteer at MWGB for the last 3 years and at 2 other Michigan Events
Do you plan on being able to attend most of the WGA events next year, and do you plan to be able to work at those events to make them a success?
We plan on attending all the events that we can. And plan on volunteering where ever needed to make the events a success, (as long as it does not mean that I have to hide temporary caches)
Yes, I can be there

My first question is, do you agree that we should continue minimal moderation of the forums, or would you like to see some limits placed on offensive posts?
zumaSo far the minimal moderation has been working OK, but members have left the WGA with bad blood, so it could be stepped up a bit.
@zuma wrote:
My second question is related to the policy that I cut and pasted from the Utah Geocachers Association that follows this paragraph. Please reveiw it, and comment whether you think it would be worthwhile for the WGA to adopt a similiar policy:
zumaLike this policy, but have some areas that do not need to be so strong.

3. In the future, posts that are mean spirited or attack another member will be deleted and the entire thread may be locked or deleted.
zumaThreads should be locked before it gets to the point that they need to be deleted. Once deleted, there is no record of what has happened in the past

5. Any posts about politics are subject to deletion and any posts about religion will be deleted.
zumaI understand that politics and religion are touchy subjects, but depending on the post, and where in the forums it is (Off topic) the could be allowed there. Everyone think the Packers are Gods, are we going to consider watching the packer games “religion” I hate football, but do not pipe up in the packer or Brett Farve columns.
Ive only used a phone a friend once while in Michigan at a puzzle cache, that I had the correct coordinates for and checked by the CO we were back to the correct area 3 times on different trips to the UP and finally made a call to a friend. without getting a give it away type of hint, I was able to find it.
and in 4 years I have only recieved a call once, it was on a cache that I was the last finder of in over a year, and although I could vaguely remember it, I was no help. Now I see where that caching journal that another forum post is talking about could help.
