I picked the best one in my opinion, as the real reason why I do not like the new logo as it is a copy of another state

Your not alone, I have voiced my opinion about this issue many times too and im sure everyone is sick of hearing from me also. I agree with your last post, we should go with 99designs and see what could come from them, so the total bill of the logo design is up to $250 still a cheep bill for a graphic designer

here is a idea, maybe we could recoup some of the $100 cost of the new logo design and send it over to Wyoming and see if they want to use it too.

You know… i thought the logo looked pretty good when looking at it at work and then I got home and my home monitor does it absolutely no justice. In fact it looks like crud on this monitor. Interesting…

Wonder if the color is off on my junky home monitor.

Just goes to prove “It might be good enough to WORK, but not to geocache with”

            Sorry for the sick humor

I too would like to know how much was spent on the design, I could have done it in the simple paint program that comes with windows, I too have over 10 years in the Graphic Arts Industry, and it is a shame that this logo was not dropped, I am the one that brought up the fact that the WSGA logo was similar, And I agree with gotta run the fact was brought up in the middle of the voting time. It would have been nice to be notified that the BOD was following thru with the logo (guess I missed this in the minutes of the meetings BTW are these posted anywhere?????) I see this as a big waste of $$$$. Now all the BOD is tucking their tails between their legs and saying that they didn’t choose it:

                  Quote:
I will admit to not voting for this logo in any of the elections

                  Quote:
I will have to admit that I liked the lower-case “g” logo the best

                  Quote:
I did not vote for this particular design, but I do like it

And they are using the scapegoat of “its what the membership wanted”

Before anything went further, there should have been a re-vote

Have more to say on this topic, but that is what is on the tip of my tongue at this time

We have been at the last 3 MWGB On staff in ’08 and will be again in ’09 Never been to Woodstock yet (We will be attending this year) MWGB is a event that is designed to be laid back, not a tightly run schedule, plenty of time for coin trading, socializing, and AREA 51. It is a great time, and this year will be in a new location, OHIO. Registration for MWGB will be opening soon (or so the website says). So hope to see you all there.

There was talk of bringing MWGB to Wisconsin or the UP or even Minnesota in the future, MWGB.org would do alot of the work to set up a event in another state, but there would be legwork that would need to be done, the area would have to have a large area for the event, like the UP state fair grounds in Escanaba or maybe even the Brown county fair grounds in Depere. there would have to be ample hotels close by for the non campers.
A large airport for the flyins and the venue has to be reasonably priced to fit in the budget, and have ample caches in the area that can support 500 visitors in a week.

being a volunteer last year, I can attest to the needing of more help in certain areas, Most (90%) or better of the volunteers are from Michigan then the rest from Ohio, and it was just us from Wisconsin. Would love to see more Wisconsin geocachers there even if it is just a 4 hour shift one of the days, it is a big help.

Today I finally had some time to catch up on some of the water caches in the area. Since we don’t own a boat we figured this was the best time, It was a bit cold on the way to the cache, but my didn’t get wet.

I put on the proper gear for a water cache and headed out
